Hi Phi, great video as usual, but on a sidenote do u think u can make a video on how the combo system in Tekken 8 works? Nothing insanely character specific but like some general tips like how to realign yourself so your combo doesn't drop, stuff like that. Thanks for all the work youve put out man.

Off axis launches are very character specific. Different characters have different tools to adapt on an off axis combo situations.

If get off axis in a combo most chars sidestep to re align

If you're off axis, if you're finding it hard to identify when to sidestep which is the usual, then you can default to using your fastest bound move to continue the combo with less damage. If you take Knees set when he got a jet upper launch off axis you can see instead of going for the double knee staple he uses f1+2 into a bound combo because it's more reliable. A good thing to do is to go into practice and just try off axis combos and find if they work on axis as well and just default to that if you get a launch either off axis or straight on. With most things in Tekken it takes a little time to identify the situations, but if you find a combo that works for both you can just muscle memory that instead so you don't have to worry as much until you develop the experience to know when to use different combos depending on the situation.

The insane part of that RA is that the move he tried to punish is the only move like that, it is a knowledge check of the most obscene level, It is EXCLUSIVELY that move, Not TRT stance, TRT is airborne, but for like 10 frames in the recovery of MTS df+4 it is considered as DOWNED not AIRBORNE, hence the grounded hit, no other move in zafina's kit does that, I went through it is only that one singular move for like 10 frames.

I am proud to see Shadow and Jr in so many high profile tournaments but I always wondered as a region why NA always falls behind in tech. Tekken 7 we got the game a year plus later than everyone but T8 everyone started at the same time. What do we need to do to have more representation like Korea or Japan? Those flags are all you see in top 48 to Grand finals in most big tournaments. Shadow is the exception but what we as a region could be.

​@@dancovichThose kinds of rage art hits happen when someone is grounded, most commonly when a player is prone after a combo or at a wall sliding down to ground after a combo. This specific Mantis stance move that transitions into Tarantula stance for some reason has a few frames at the end that are considered grounded just before getting to the Tarantula stance, which is actually considered airborne (and the RA would have hit her normally in that stance). Why are there a few grounded frames there in the move? No idea at all, and it makes things needlesly weird and that should be removed imo, and this is coming from a Zafina main who can't git gud at other characters

Zafina can just rob rage arts in mantis. The d3 puts her in down state for a frame and then TRT is considered airborne so she takes less damage from a RA anyway. She could also frame prefect slide through Drag doing a RA

The shadow situations with RA miss is more realistic to me 😌😌😌 The RA is not a low so it Can online touch on mid and high TRT is on ground stance. The bug is the fact that even in ground stance, the Dragunov RA touch him 🤦🤦🤦
