Although this video is old, its new to me and has helped me greatly. The pain is coming from my sartorius muscle and the pain is sharp and stings. I will massage, ice and stretch - thank you very much

I must say that this is far The Best video I have watched about this topic! Thank you for a clear explanation and the practical tips how to recover but also to support the knee with tape. I got my pain in my left knee after changing both my pair of running shoes and started to do interval training downhill on tarmac. Bad idea! I got injured in late August 2019 and had a long rest period over the winter where I could not do anything. It kept coming back, but now it have started to become better and I am building up my running with short distances on soft ground (the woods). What have helped me to recover faster has been light bicycling to increase the blood flow in my knee. With bicycling there is no twist in the knee and no body weight impact which actually keep the pain away. Again thank you and All the best from Denmark. Take care. Jesper

Hi @Zygomorf, what length of ride to consider light biking. I'm desperate to get back into commuter cycling but I'm a minimum hour ride from everywhere and feel that would be too much.

I agree - excellent video. Maybe make another one on stretches and warm ups/downs to treat/prevent this.

Very helpful, thanks for sharing. I am visiting specialists from many years getting shots but never understood what they want to do. Today first time ever I understand my problem and hope I will get better by using same strategies you mentioned in your video. Thanks once again, so nice of you and KZbin for providing such a superb platform.

I have a medial and lateral meniscus tears and decided to just do exercises ands not have an operation. Recently I was doing some yoga poses that put pressure on the medial area. I was in extreme pain. After doing some research I believe this bursitis was the problem. I iced the area and took pain relief. Luckily I had a mini motorized cycle I had bought because I thought I would have an operation for the meniscus tear. This has completely stopped the pain and I have full knee function. Surgeons always go straight to an operation but exercise is the way to go but you have to keep it up.

Great video. I am a 77 year old woman who has been dealing with this for the past 3 years. It started with Zumba classes after doing them for over 3 years. Only recently diagnosed. Went for a while without pain and now it is back for no reason I can figure out. Not doing Zumba anymore - walking about 2-3 miles four to five days a week. Can only figure it came back from not doing enough stretching. Hating it. Will follow your instructions and see if it helps. Thanks.

Mine started a year ago. Not sitting during the day was all that I did was different. I’m 72. Very painful when bent,walking, steps,and bent in bed . Under a physio now can’t walk far and so frustrating. This guy is very informative.

Thanks so much for this very informative video. I have had pain in my knee area for several months. MRI showed frayed and torn meniscus. Repair surgery was last Friday. I am recovering well from that but have had the same pain start up as previous to surgery. Ortho doc told me what the pain was from. No instructions on how to treat it. UGH! Thanks to You Tube and your video, I know how to treat this chronic pain now.

From a PT. The two X pieces of tape should have an 80% stretch applied to them with the ends of the tape laid down with no stretch. And the long piece of tape should have a 25% stretch to the middle of the tape with ends laid down with no stretch. This will cause the best support.

Wow I properly diagnosed and taped the first time. Too bad my tape came off half way thru my training. Only had 2 miles left on the bike then a fast transition to a run. Needless to say the run didnt happen. Within the last 2 miles on the bike knee went down hill fast

Im on my 5th day since I started feeling "pain" in my knee and everyday it feels like its not getting any better. I got this when I ran beyond my limits (Im new to running and did high mileage too early and thought that this pain will go away by tomorrow). I can walk but not how I normally walk and there's a bit of pain when I do. There is no swelling but I feel like it will swell in the coming days (hopefully not). Now I wonder what should I do to help fasten the recovery. I cannot get this checked up because of Covid status in our country but I'm fairly sure that this is Pes anserine bursitis based on my research and diagnosis. Thanks!

A personal test for PA Bursitis is to sit with legs straight out in front of you, place non-injured foot on the inside of the heel on the injured side, then push that inner heel into the opposite foot like you’re trying to twist your toes outward and the opposite foot is blocking it. That activates the large muscles that cross the PA bursa and will cause pain up there by the knee and is tell-tale for PA Bursitis.

Running is the last thing on my mind it's being able to walk that's the issue. I was doing alright this last week since it began and down to one crutch, also doing exercises physio gave me, could even walk a bit further than the corner shop but am now back to square one today with acute pain and using two crutches again.

I have bursitis right below my knee on the inside. I have tried ice, CBD, guasha, ibuprofen w/Tylenol, resting my leg & it still hurt. Still on light duty at work. Workman's Comp, after waisting my time, decided they won't take care of it or I already would have had the bursitis drained : steroid shot and I would get back to work. But because I have OA I have to wait to go to the VA to get consult but they will have my x-ray &, MRI thankfully. Then another month to wait for appointment to have my bursitis drained and receive my steroid shot. So I am one month in & have extreme pain. So what can I do in the mean time to alleviate pain in my knee¿

This hahaha! Been my issue but it’s longer term now. Went from 6-7/10 pain to now 0.5 when I flex my Fort or figure four in that immediate spot in the knee you pointed to. Aaah! Annoying id like to restart running but am fearful of it re- igniting and causing longer term issues. Os there a danger of that and what might you say about it. When I had run before totally quitting I was using tape. Ive been getting ims and shockwave too.

I have inflammation here after running ,after returning to running after a injury,it's not painful but I want to prevent tendinitis, so should I massage it with small hard ball?aswell ?
@sunnysidhu7898
@sunnysidhu7898 5 жыл бұрын
No. Do not massage with the hard ball. Soft gentle massage, stretching and resting is best from my personal experience. And don't do breast stroke in the swimming pool. This is also called swimmer's knee. Use ice if swollen. Rest and use a knee brace/sleeve.

I got this exact pain two weeks ago when I decided to start running again after not running for 20 years. Two things I learned.... don't go full bore on the first day back, and don't forget I'm not 18 anymore. The knee pain was so intense for 2-3 days after and I felt so unsteady on my legs, if one of my dogs had bumped in to me I likely would have collapsed to the ground. I rested a week and felt better, then attempted jogging again (a shorter distance) and the pain came back the next day. Its not as intense as the first time but still enough to disrupt my sleep at night. I'm wondering now if I should rest until the pain is completely gone, or wait a couple days then get back at it to build up some strength. Tough call...
