My service disability is for hearing loss. They told me I would be reimbursed for a service related. I saw an Audiologist they will not reimburse me.

It took me a total knee replacement to go from 10% to 30%. You won’t get any higher than 10% unless you have some serious mobility issues to where you can hardly walk at all.

I'm an old paratrooper. Went In for my c&p knee exam on appeal (3rd exam) yesterday, gave the doc my statement, he asked me some questions then had me lay on the table. He put the goiniometer against the side of my knee and he started to bend my leg back and forth. I told him that hurts, he said relax your leg, I said I cant it's stiff! He stopped and had me sign a piece of paper saying he used a goiniometer. That was it the only measurement taken was him trying to move my leg back and forth.

Had a similar experience myself. Stopped when it became painful and the doc just set goinometer down and said it wouldn't be useful from there.

I was an airborne infantryman for 7 years with over 80 jumps, infantryman my whole 20 years, and tried to get my knees added on to my disability. I didn’t even get a C&P exam, they just put “Not service related” on mine. Now I’m going back and trying again with MRIs, X-rays, Nexus, DD214, and my ERB.

I was also one of them guys who spent 3 years jumping out of plane, went for the C&P on 1/18/24 the doctor tried to Make me move my to check fr ROM, I stopped as soon as she tried to manipulate my knees to bend or extend. She also checked my hips which I showed her my limited ROM(got denied for the hips) they awarded 10%/ankle and told me that I had arthritis of my left knee but did not mentioned anything about the right.

My left knee got 10% for range of movement and then 10% for instability. I was pretty surprised it was two SEPERATE ratings. Funny part is when the c and p examiner said he felt instability I laughed inside and thought he was crazy. My knee had never really given me problems instability wise Two years later I started have stability issues going up and down stairs. 4 years later I was using a cane Pretty interesting that he found it before I did lol

Of all the videos I've watched this one is the most concise direct information I've seen, but one thing I haven't seen any of these videos is for somebody to talk about a C & P exam for somebody who's trying to get their already service connected disability rating higher. I've got a service connection disability In my knee patella femoral syndrome, and it has got worse with arthritis. What's the process for that, and how to know if my exam went well. He asked a few questions i answered per how i should with no sugar coatng my pain and flexibility... But I was only there for maybe 15 min. It seemed rushed, but at the same time i felt he did what he knew was supposed to be done. I am confused if it went well or not. Thank you very much💙

Thanks for the info. Is a diagnosis of arthritis in the knee the same as knee pain? Or is knee pain a specific diagnosis code?

Hey Jordan. Grreeat stuff. I had a quick question. I had an appointment with outside VA doctor through VES, The Dr. said he called me 3 times, he never did. I have call logs. I found out through my VA app that "Cancelled Contention EMS" I didn't know what that was, So I called VA and they told me that's what happened . It was a flat out lie by that Dr. from VES. This was supposed to be my ACE Exam.

I have 10 percent on each knee. I had a knee scope on one of them. But pain always in my ankles and Achilles. I was airborne on jump status along with Air Assault and combat tours. Should I go for more than just the two knees with no rating on my ankles and Achilles?

@@40acresandatractor Thanks, I had my knee rebuilt when I destroyed it on a rescue op, I managed to get good mobility on it, but I have pain especially when weight bearing and I can’t squat deep. The MRI says both knees are fine, but that I have deterioration of the cartilage.

@@timothyjburton YOU aren't fine if the cartilage is "deteriorating" or degenerative. Keep track of that: highlight that in your records and keep track of everything with those words or anything SIMILAR to it. Keep learning so you can be your OWN driver of this process. I don't like to allow other people to DRIVE me around in real life so I'm DEFINITELY going to DRIVE this 100% home🫡

I am rated 10% for knee instablity. I just went to physical therapy and the doctor prescribed me a Cho-pat knee strap for my patella tracking. Would a Cho-pat strap the same as a brace for the 20% rating?

I just went to physical therapy and they used this on my knee i got good ROM rn but i feel like after this command PRT itll mess it up again. Will they use that measuring tool on my knee? After I get out and go to the VA again for the C&P exam?

Great info. Active duty here: If we go in to be seen by medical and we are treated with meds or PT, is that the same as a diagnosis?

I was a paratrooper from 2014-2018 and only got seen for my knees a couple of times in the last six months of being in, no diagnosis. I was rated 10% for both. Just go and get looked at as much as you can and tell them everything that hurts. It will help you with claims. I wish I got looked at more when I was in.

Prior Navy Corpsman here: you still need to make sure that the treatment notes from your visit includes a diagnosis. I wouldn’t be surprised though if they just diagnosed you with “knee pain”. And be sure to make copies of everything that’s in your medical record before you get out!

No go to medical and get xrays and from there they will diagnose you with something if the see it.

Ok, here is a question. I have 19 different incidents in my military medical file documenting a problem with my knee. Fast forward 30 years, I needed a knee replacement at age 54. Can I file a claim for my knee now since I have had it replaced?

My back is not documented but my right knee is documented for pattellofemoral syndrome both left and right arms have neuropathy. Can I service connect my back at the c and p exam is that possible? Is chronic pain from knee pain a separate rating to combat ptsd? Or do they overlap. I have a chronic pain (mood disorder, anxiety attacks etc.) and want to submit for PTSD

Hmm, 10% per knee isn’t great but perhaps you have some instability or something that could boost that rating. Just dropped an updated knee video a few minutes ago

I heard get the rating first and if it is low, there is a va form you can use to say they did not use it and you can get another exam done. From all the research I have done they said they must use it in your exam. They also said NEVER push past your pain.

And you can get two ratings on one knee for flexibility and extension or flexibility and pain.. nonetheless they just stack up Right knee - 20% and 20% Left knee - 20% and 20% = 70% File for those increases.. dont let them give you 10% for one knee
