I was an athlete for over 40 yrs (now 69). I got hit by a car 10 yrs ago and broke my ankle and knee. Since then I was scoped 3 times for repairs however just over a year ago I had to get a total knee replacement. I am way ahead of the curve as far as knee replacement patients are concerned but as a former athlete, I find it extremely frustrating. I walk fine though I eventually get tired. As for running, jumping, kicking or anything ballistic, that’s pretty much a no go for me. I still shoot at the range and also 3D but haven’t been able to get back out hunting. Knees are crucial for everything…look after them folks.

Prayers for speedy recovery. Follow your doctor's orders and be a good patient. After a couple weeks, you will feel a lot better. But be patient through the whole recovery time.

July 12th I had shoulder surgery, December 12th I had another cervical fusion of C4-C5 and now have C4 to C7 fused. I've missed the last 4 years of bow hunting due to injury. I'm really hoping to hunt this year. I have Elk on my bucket list!

Prayers for a speedy recovery. Last year I had 2 knee surgeries. One to remove the chunk of bone that broke out of my knee joint and lodged itself in the middle of it. Then the second to put a cadaver bone in the hole from the broken out chunk, and a high tibia wedge to re align my leg. You are a guy that gets after, I have faith you will come back better than ever!

This last year, I got slammed with a crazy stomach infection that also locked my back up HARD. after almost three months of the stomach issues and not being able to really walk (and loosing 50 lbs because I couldn’t really 😅eat), I had major stomach surgery to get rid of the infection. Almost 7 months after all this started, I’ve gained about 30 lbs back and am trying to get my back rehabbed as well. Missed both my deer hunt and elk hunt last fall. Thankful I’ve been able to work remote during this ordeal, so at least I’m not homeless as well. Long story short, health and mobility are precious. I hope yours returns soon!

Thoughts and prayers to a speedy recovery. Really interested to see and hear about your recovery process, that’s the one thing medicine can not predict…how the human body will heal itself and recover after trauma, with each and every person responding differently. I finally developed a meniscus tear from age and wear & tear. Trying to go as long as possible before going down the clean up vs. repair rabbit hole. 1% better each day!!!

I feel your pain! I ruptured my patella playing basketball this past December. The loss of muscle in my calf and quad is unbelievable. There’s going to be a long road ahead, but I HAVE to be able to hunt, especially bowhunt. I’m trying not to mess things up so I can hit PT hard, but that will be another 4-6 weeks. It sucks, but I’m going fight through it. Best of luck in your recovery!

Had a total knee reconstruction (acl with tendon replacement from my patella tendon and torn cartilage) my senior year after a couple of football games. Made it back for baseball (pushed to hard and didn’t let graft heal) and blew it again. Had to wait a few months for reconstruction again. Had 4 more surgeries by age 28, then total replacement at ripe old age of 37. Now at 51, I am starting to feel the wear a little bit. Hopefully next replacement will last till the Good Lord calls me home. All That to say listen to doctor and pt.

Love me a good pre workout, I had a torn PCL at the Elk Immersion, and was using BPC-500, and that stuff has me back in full range of motion, was able to hunt hard and can run with no pain, I'll add it was a partial tear though.
