This is the best technique I have used to reduce swelling. It's well worth the additional time to apply, thank you!

Out of ALL the videos I have watched about taping the knee this one by far was the best. I am going to take time to cut my tape going forward! Because I wanna be cool also😁 side note..... I love the humor. I was laughing pretty hard, thanks for that also.

You made me laugh......but your information was very helpful. I, all of a sudden, started having swelling and pain while being homebound from covid-19! I have had problems with swelling on the back of the knee when I lean down on it. I push the ligament back in and ice it and that seemed to help, but now the whole darn knee has swollen and it hurts a bit while walking and climbing stairs. SO to make a long story short, this video has helped show me a possible solution to relieve the pain. And again, I was laughing during your demo....😁 (Sorry for all the ramble)

I’m curious why no stretch? I had the impression the stretch was the key point
@NorthernSoul3 жыл бұрын
Hello Ruby! The reason for no stretch or very little stretch is that when you have swelling, the tissue is already under pressure from the fluid taking up space among the cells and specific contained area. The skin will be under load, and adding more load ( >20% stretch) may cause damage to the skin or dermal layer. The idea is to provide "guidance" for the direction of removal of excess fluid thru the lymph drainage system. So the more swelling, the less stretch as a precaution. If you have light swelling and no pain from the pressure of the selling, you may add some stretch, 5-15%, to create more surface area. hope that help!
