I hope to one day train with Dean Lister. Amazing genius. Simply makes a lot of sense. By the way, i broke my ribs too. Very painful. Im down 2 months. Started healing 6 weeks, then it becomes better. Looking at 12 weeks tops from doctors advice.

+Lister Dean May I ask about your hip placement relative to theirs? I have tried to keep my hip close to theirs, like with an armbar, but they tend to bodylock around my hips strongly and prevent me using my hips to press or separate. The advice so far has been to try and increase the separation of our hips when I make my entry so that I am lower down on the leg, but when I do that it feels looser and it seems the knee is less controled. Thoughts? Also, how do respond if they get close and bodylock?

nice tip on how to prevent the armbar escape but I find it hard to believe that a world champion would teach grab the toes
@listerdean2332
@listerdean2332 9 жыл бұрын
hehe why not?? same as when applying an armlock, its important to grab and control the thumb... So because it is the leg we are attacking, important now to grab and control the big toe specifically.... same as an armlock, instead of thumb, its the big toe to control... Key.... Have good times in training, withing the best my bro

Are you bending against the knee with your hips or against the side of the knee with your inner thigh? I was doing kneebars today and couldn't do it efficiently because I kept on feeling discomfort at my crotch. Someone advise meh plz

Its a common problem with both straight knee locks and straight arm locks.... You "must" squeeze your legs together TIGHT "BEFORE" the knee or elbow even touches your crotch... Its a common problem but easily solved
@KewlDude123

Lister Dean ahh, with armbars it's easier because its more easier to manoeuvre. with kneebars, because the leg is way bigger and stronger, sometimes the positioning is relatively difficult. I appreciate the advice and help, sir.
@listerdean2332
@listerdean2332 7 жыл бұрын
***** correct! That's why you need to squeeze your legs even tighter hehe.... Wishing you the best in training my bro

lock + PAIN I was looking for ; this is just a static lock and not what I was looking for . the way it`s been shown would be no reason to tap out and therefore not useful in a street application.otherwise not a bad demonstration .

Some months ago, a tiny police woman, 20 cm smaller than me, inflicted a leg-bar on me, turning my bikerboot to even strengthen the leg-bar. My fists could only strike air - holes. A few seconds later I fainted cuz she additionally pressed one finger hard against a neuralgic point 5cm beneath my knee . Since she was Japanese looking and by the quick way she made me tumble to the floor , I now guess, what she applied on me must have been Judo or Aikido.
