I think the person in the video said it best when he says there a combination of factors causing the knife crime epidemic,I agree with that point. Are we as a society more violent now,than society was 200 years ago.I doubt we are,probably more violent 200 years ago. Whats changed is how quick information,news and trends from one country to another gets exported,especially the bad stuff then impressionable young people copy what they see and don't have a good role model to look up to or aspire to be,then they see the local hoodlum and they think thats cool to copy and allure of easy money. Sadly there will always be violence, you can try and mitigate the risk via legislation,education and providing jobs which successive governments have done to be fair but there will always be people hell bent on hurting others there is no one solution that stops it and lets be honest its mostly young men that cause the majority of issues regarding knife crime and general violence. I think a lot of how you turn out as a person is down to your upbringing,especially parental responsibility or lack of it rather. Then theres the easy availability of drink and drugs then before you know it society is in the middle of a knife crime epidemic. Once the police get involved its already to late for the perpetrator and the victim both lives have been destroyed. Even if you doubled police numbers and banned the use of knives you still wouldn't stop the violence you might reduce it a bit but it won't stop. I think some people are just violent and disagreeable and they use anything that comes to hand quite literally,thats my opinion anyway. Interesting discussion..👍

Here in eastern Europe countries carrying any type of a knife or a sword is legal, concealed or not. Yet we almost don't have "knife crime". Of course it happens that someone kills somebody with a knife but it is really rare. In my country, Poland, people carry knives, pepper spray, expandable batons, stun guns, tasers, all of it is bought legally in shops or online and still streets are super safe, violent crime exists, but is pretty rare and despite all these items carried for self defense we don't have to wash blood of the streets every morning. Or at least partially because of them? There is something absolutely abhorrent with this nazi-like approach in UK with banning everything that is a weapon, stop and search policy is absolutely inhumane and typical for authoritarian countries and all these undemocratic measures fail to stop violence, but you insist on making them even more severe? It's utter madness.
