While I do agree that there are ways to confront a knife, my recomendation (if someone cares), is that if you already have a knife to your throat then you should surrender, no question asked. If the atacant is skilled or strong enough to put the knife in your neck to begin with then that means that he is already way above your league (and armed). Doing anything else could potentially and surely put an end to your life. There are only two instances were you should do something to defend yourself in that kind of scenario, and is when the offender is ready to kill you anyways or someone in your family is in a danger equal or worse than yours. Otherwise, there is no merit in doing something else than surrender, value your life. Money comes and goes, but you cannot recover from the grave.

The danger is that if some women or teen thinks they can deal with a knifeman with this technique, they are either heading to the hospital or morgue, this is very irresponsible and can be deadly
@mightymeatmonsta6 жыл бұрын
@@BenJamin-ox7kj No, it is a good technique. You just have to practice, practice, practice. It works because of the element of surprise. The attacker doesn't expect you to resist, so by the time he realizes what has happened, you will already have the knife.

And if he doesn't, then what? See, you are an idiot. Yes, it will work if you do it enough times using different angles of attack and different attacks. It is better to train it then not train it and be totally in the dark. At least you have SOME chance of survival if you train properly!
@zanekircher54326 жыл бұрын
mightymeatmonsta If he is going to kill you he is going to slash your neck and take your wallet from your corpse. If he is asking for your wallet then chances are he doesn't want any trouble. Also exercise good awareness and if you know that he is going to kill you any way then yeah go for it. Also you'd want to throw some softening techniques to increase your chances. But if you think that he is only after your wallet just give it to him it's less valuable than your life.

Real life situations are not choreographed. Trying a crazy stunt like this in a real-life situation could possibly cost you your life. What if the pulls back? You could possibly end up with a sliced forearm. What if you aren't strong enough to overpower your attacker? Let's say you do pull off this trick and the guy pulls out a gun you, what then? Do you have another magical move to unarm your attacker? My point is there are so many variables in real-life situations. There's a reason you only see this type of shit in Hollywood movies.

Why would the criminal pull out a knife first if he had a gun that makes no sense

The guy in the footage took the so called advice of running, he ran his little heart out and he's dead now. @@mysty0 Yeah, but he was dealing with multiple attackers. Furthermore, the video does not demonstrate Mr. Wong's presentation. The move looks cool, but how practical is it? @Delaney_don16 жыл бұрын
Martial arts are good to give people confidence and make people stronger, but sometimes false confidence can be dangerous, especially if your art doesn't work as well as it's made out to be. For example the knife attacker in this could just continuosly stab and the defender would be done. Reality of knife defence is you are gonna get cut, you might get stabbed but you might survive. I don't like it when people act like you can defend against a knife in a clean and perfect way, real life is different from the movies.
@crizzy766 жыл бұрын

Ok, try this again with forcefull aggresion. Creating a surprice with forward learning to get close and personal against the victim. Also burstly surprice and pressure him with both physical and verbal traumatic threats making him go into off balance backfooting like a halfpin or make him completely submit/surrender. Which means he now feels powerless and overwhelmed. Frozen fear or panic should kick in now and that makes his rational thinking almost gone. Including to first realize what the situation is and figure out what to do next to defend him self which is even harder to pull of now bc of tunnelvisioning and a lot of build up tension in his body from fear that slows everything down for him. Making the right rational decision to both solving and getting out of the situation safely is fried and highly risky and dangerous when in this state of closed alertness. Staying calm is key to gather most accurate data around us with our senses (awareness), but when overwhelmed we get mostly shut down to basic thinking only + strong feelings and risk of triggering the 3 desperate fight or flight or play dead reactions. Shock and paralysing fear can be triggered as well and it happens the exact moment we realizes the reality of the threats presense. Like seeing the (REAL) knife/weapon pointing right at you at close enough and unsafe range. A training knife does not create that fear as strongly in training but the real knife does and that changes everything. Because it's life and death now with a real knife and not objective traning drills in a safe dojo with a safe trainingknife agaist a safe opponent. Not knowing or preparing on how we mentally react against REAL threats can get us killed thinking we rationally got everything covered in training. Not if our mind is not stable, including if we know all the right techniques against knifeattacks. We can know 1000 techniques against a knife attacks but in the end you may only need 1 correct technique to safe a life. The awnsers are found with a strong self-awareness, calm mind, including keeping calm under maximum pressure. Train Systema to learn all about and become aware of your full potential self mentally, physically and spiritly with scientific awnsers.

Ok. I have been practicing a variety of martial arts since I was 14, I am 47 now. I have worked in psychiatry for over 20 years, from community nursing to forensic detention centres. I spent 7 years teaching and training in management of violence. I have seen and dealt with numerous violent individuals, both armed and unarmed, single and multiple individuals in real situations as well as in training. This technique is not realistic. As Master Wong himself has said in many of his videos, if you do not have awareness you have already compromised your position. By all means practice the technique, a million times, but in real life your assailant is not going to stand there and do nothing while you disarm them. I have been slashed and injured too many times to believe this technique will work. I advise a more aggresive and direct approach. Attack is often the best form of defence in such situations.

in case of real attack, several factors, fear, victim's fear, aggressor aggression, speed, surprise, emotion, tension ... etc. and reflexes, self-control are things that not many have ...... from the Bronze Age and until the 19th century the murders were done with the dagger, knife etc. ..... ,,,,

Switch the knife for a black marker and try it with resistance, see if the the marker holder can put Black ink on the defender.
I wonder btw master wong. How did you learn wing chun and techniques at the beginning and what are your first wing chun techniques. Love your videos btw✨💖✨👌💝

Can only work at that first stage of turning ad blocking.On the neck turn block ad immediately hold that hand my opinion. That turning blocking ad pushing backward an enemy can pull the hand backward ad attack again if fast enough.
