This is Tanto because Tanto is Katana of blade length is less than 30cm. Also Wakizashi one is between 30cm and 60cm.
@Kyo-kf6jf6 жыл бұрын
The hell...? "Wakizashi style"? Do you even know what designates the name for a japanese blade? Because the main difference between a Tanto, Wakizashi, Katana and Odachi is mostly and simply blade length.
@Muppet_6 жыл бұрын
Kyo 21943 Actually some wakizashi do fall in the range of tanto length but typically wakizashi will have more 反り,sori (curve) while tanto knives have little to none sori.
@Muppet_6 жыл бұрын
Kyo 21943 Wakizashi will have more sori because of its function as a secondary weapon to compliment or replace 打刀(uchigatana) or 太刀(Tachi), while a tanto doesn’t need sori because of its function as 鎧通し (yoroitooshi) , to penetrate Armor.

a cut one is a lot more expensive and wasteful than a forged one and takes a lot less skill to do. Anyone with an angle grinder and a belt sander can cut a knife from steel bar, it takes lots of experience to be able to forge one. I'd consider this work machining more than forging/blacksmithing, and while it's impressive all the same, it's closer to being machine-made than manmade art. The setscrew instead of the pin was really not a good finishing look for this knife and completely distracts from the rest of the work
