I feel like, that drop at the end was like a reward to any open minded KP Fans. Its like, they wanted you to just sit and listen to the song and feel the amount of soul that was put into it. You were open to something different, and now they will reward you by taking the new and giving you a bit more context by combining it with the old. They're letting ppl know that wubs and bass aren't all music is about and it's not all knife party's about (even though it does play in there heavily). That drop at the end is like the conclusion they' wanna have: You can have soul and still be hype as hell. (or something else cliche like that) Personally I think this is one of the best KP songs I've heard, simply cause of how conflicting it is and how damn catchy and addictive it is after like the third listen (and the fact they put that "what happened to the dubstep?" quote there LOL)

Every dislike for this song and things like 'EDM Trend Machine' are all from people who believe that an artist can never do anything different from what they originally made. Electronic music isn't rock. It is always progressing and changing because it has to, who wants the same god damn drop for every dance track lol, it's just funny how people can still be stuck in 2011/2012 when Knife Party have only 4 tracks a year before this anyway. All of Knife Party is technically an experiment

I doubt electronic music has more subgenres than rock or progresses faster. All genres just come in waves. A few years ago it was big room, then it was future bass, now it's trance. The same thing happens/happened with subgenres of rock.

To be honest this doesn't even feel like a real satire of any of the EDM scene; yeah it makes some jokes here and there about some of the more obnoxious things we've seen, but its like every track was carefully produced to really emphasize how much it really doesn't matter in the grand scope of things. I for one am dying in pleasure over how amazingly well mastered this album sounds, and how much different it is to what most other artists and projects have gone recently!

I just miss the variety in genres and just somewhat more alternative takes on the EDM genres. HOW are people upset with this?! Yes, it's a complete turn in direction from when Knife Party was originally producing, however it's obscenely ignorant to expect artists not to play around with new styles when other genres rise to power. A few years ago it was Dubstep and Skrillex was one of the mainstreams there. Now the scene is EDM/Trap. If you don't like this song after hearing 3:04 then I'm not sure what to tell you. Keep it going, KP. This is glorious.

There are a few hours left until Abandon Ship's release will be 9 years... This time and my journey with it is are unforgettable and forever in my soul..... It all started with my introduction to Pendulum, when I first heard the tune from The Island in the splash screen of one minecraft video in the spring or summer. Then in the winter of 2016 I discovered this band in full and found out that they play live as a band and was blown away by the epicness of The Tempest sound and the melody of the last synth part of the song! Then I listened to Still Grey, Streamline, The Fountain and slowly explored this immense ocean of Swire's work. I remember the moment when in December 2016 I heard Encoder Live at Wembley for the first time and just fell out from the beauty of the song.... Then in the summer of 2017 I fully immersed myself in the discography of Knife Party project. It was an amazing feeling to discover each track and study it, to listen to the sound design and notice for myself how they are made and then to realize these ideas in my tracks. And then there was a moment of waiting for new releases from Rob and that was the release of Lost Souls, and the day came when I listened to ID called Nothing For Free for the first time.... It was a dream that melted into reality and I just couldn't believe it.... Then Covid, listening to Rampage Version on repeat and the death of my mom in the summer of 2020... Just so iconic... I'm insanely sorry she didn't live to see the moment of infinite happiness that I caught Pendulum releasing new material after 10 years! And nowadays Rob is releasing new tracks and a new life is underway. But this era will forever be in my soul as something inalienable, unrepeatable, honorable to me and all this chain of random events that led me to this man will be insanely grateful. Without him, his music, I would not have found myself and would not have known myself as a musician and composer. He's my twin flame... So I will forever honor this whole period of my life as a way of becoming and coming to the depth of myself. And thanks to every soul who's helped me and taught me to see myself as a creator and a god.... Pendulum, KP - forever in love...

I think what this song is saying to me is that in order to stay a "superstar" like the title suggests, someone has to give people "everything (they) ever want and more". Being famous isn't about doing what you want or love, it's about giving people what they tell you they want or they'll leave you behind. Or, I could be reading too much into it. Either way, that is what this song makes me think. Well, aside from "damn this is some groovy stuff. Love it."
