Just came across your channel and it really made my day. I refer to myself as a knife rescue fella. Over the last 10 years I have been very lucky to find, restore I think well near a 100 knives. I'm always looking behind and around things to find a new to me knife, some even new in the boxes with papers. A question on storing them, a few years ago I started using prescription bottles to keep them in. Works great and with either those silica packs or plain 3-in one oil I've never had any rust. I'm looking forward to watching your videos.

Love your videos man I’m hooked on them. Could you make a video sometime showing how you fix a knife where the tip sticks out above the handle. I’ve got a lot of slipjoints brand new and the tips are barely under the scales and seems like if I sharpen them too much the tip will be out. Thanks
@theknifedoctor
@theknifedoctor 4 ай бұрын
I do that in some videos. The trick is sanding the left side of the tang of the main blade enough to allow the tip to go below the handle. If you lift the main blade and look at the bottom of it where it’s stamped with the Maker Mark…it has a little bump on the lest side. File it down some, not to much though because you’ll loose the nail pull to lift the blade. Thanks for watching!! I truly appreciate your support!!

When you moved to the 3” grinder with the fiber wheel your left arm was blocking out the work performed. Perhaps you could raise the camera angle higher to film over the left hand. I/we are interested in the work and how it’s performed. I know it’s not easy to always adjust the camera angle to capture the work. Thank you for your excellent teaching efforts.
