Yep. I really like my white bone granddaddy barlow. My only other white bone knives are 3 Winchester knives that came as a gift set.

@@KnifeChatswithTobias. I will have to go watch that video. And, thanks for your informative videos on this hobby. I have collected knives over the years, but not to the extent you have. I just received a Boker Rangebuster to retire my Case Sodbuster, and have three RR knives on the way. 2 Trappers, and one is a WHB Minuteman. The third is a buckshot Barlow. I was suspicious of the Barlow because it has an R on the metal bolster instead of the RR horseshoe, and uses two different spellings of 'Ryder/Rider.' But, seeing that you have the same style and vaildated it as a true RR gave me confidence in ordering it. I was going to get the WHB standard Barlow, but Amazon has it locked into one of its Prime offers right now and won't give me free shipping without having Amazon Prime. You should get some kind of kickback from RR for your vids.

Rough Ryder does make a smooth white bone 4 bladed knife which is RR1256, the Mini Congress.

What a nice collection,I particularly like the large and small Sunfish (Never seen a large equal end for sale) and the Hunter is a lot of knife for the money. I have a couple of other makes of knife in that 'characterful' white bone, I treated them with spirit based wood dye in Sapeli colour, the dye only goes into tiny cracks and faults in the bone and makes them look more aged.

I really like how RR does their clip blades in general. A clip is supposed to be pointy IMO, not swept up and blunt.

I just received my RR white smooth marlin spike and it's a great knife. I had two other RR white smooth bone, Hawkbill & Canoe, but I dyed them other colors. I'm leaving this one white.

Only thing about rough riders I don't like is the swedge, the very deep nail nick and the lack of carbon steel knives, seems they only use stainless in most all there knives. Nice collection.

You have to go a long way to beat a rough rider knife for the price. Their is one other brand of knife that is good and its a marble knife. It would be a hard to beat these two brand of knifes.

I would take no half stop any day over that stupid R they have on the bolsters , If they did the R in a different way maybe, with the way they do it looks like an RT that’s put on crooked I hate them I’ve passed up on many knives because of that bolster anyway nice collection Brother

It was nice on a couple. I’m also sick of the silly “Slant R”. As for half stops, I’m totally indifferent to them. Interesting enough- none of my currents EDCs have a half stop.

I forget the name of the channel but he doesn’t like the slanted R neither and he told me around six months ago they stop doing it because they finally got the hint, I have a beautiful canoe from them it has all the bells and whistle’s everything you could put on a knife it’s so busy looking at almost looks silly, then you have the stars and stripes badge and Then an inch away you have the RT so it’s unappealing, I think they’re doing it on just certain models right now

Not quite correct. Smoky Mountain Knife Works (SMKW) entered into an agreement with Colt to produce knives under license for the company. Colt filed bankruptcy in 2015 and as part of their reorganization they ended their licensing agreement with SMKW. SMKW had been producing Colt Knives under license for about 10 years at the time. These knives were being produced in the same factory as SMKW's Rough Rider (now Rough Ryder) line of knives. With the loss of the Colt licensing agreement, SMKW decided to move most of the knives in the old Colt line up into the re-vamped Rough Ryder line. Also a small number of former Colt "patterns" produced by SMKW moved to Marble's knives. (Marble's is owned by Blue Grass Cutlery but SMKW produces most of their China and Pakistan made knives).

Very well aware that they are made in China. (a few are also made in Pakistan but none of the ones in this video were.) They also had one knife made in El Salvador.
