1) Knipex doesn’t have “factory seconds”. 2) Knipex has various packaging options with different parts numbers (not the part number for the actual tool) that have different packaging options. Some have boxes some have hang cards for pegs in retail and some have no boxes. A quick search on this - “Knipex offer three types of packaging - cardboard box, hang tag with a plastic tie, and basically no packing. Some retailers offer a choice - usually a different suffix after the part number.”

This is correct. Tool boy has no idea what he's talking about and making assumptions that are completely false. I've bought many Knipex products uncarded in 'bulk' packaging from Amazon warehouse stock.

Yes especially if you buy it direkt from Germany like mine. Most Knipex pliers sold in Germany dont have packaging or box.
@shinrah4772Ай бұрын
@@ryanngan7385 Ye depends where and from whom you buy but I got some In the Cardboard Box and some in just the plastic bag, also I live in Germany and bought from Amazon and the ones I got in a plastic only bag were actually the ones with the new grips (where they added the black rubber part to the comfort grip and tether option). The seller was via Amazon Marketplace and a licensed tool store for Knipex. So ye, unless you're shopping them as a present for someone and want nicer packaging it doesn't really matter which packaging they come in aslong as they're delivered without dmg.

Knipex is also very good with QC, they inspect every part every few steps, and then again once the pliers are together. The handles are also the last thing as those are only applied to pliers that have passed through assembled QC, which then go through that same department again (with handles now) for a final visual inspection. Anything that doesn't meet their standards gets scrapped, even if it's side cutters that have been filed down too much in the final QC step

I stopped buying German tools on Amazon. I use KC Tool to buy anything Knipex, Hazet, Felo, Wera, Gedore, ect... they sell all high quality straight from Germany. I usually order when I need several items because they do have shipping costs. However the prices are always decent.

None of that’s the case. With manufacturing of literally anything. Each company producing products have a spec’s range. An when molds etc etc are being used. Theirs wear. An at a certain spec after it crosses that point. Molds etc have to be replaced. A you can receive a tool from any range of spec change of molds a grind wheels an every aspect of it. Everything in the process starts at a certain point an ends at their certain point. Just as it begins at whatever spec they choose. I think it’s just more along the lines of tool adjustments an wear of the consumables etc. Kinda like all will be like a snowflake an no two will be exactly the same. Unless you have two tools. A you follow each of the two through the entire process start to finish. An it was one after the other. An no gap of tools made between the two. But at the end of the day it’s still within spec. The only way it won’t be. Is how far apart in batch quantity control is. A they been making tools long enough that I’m sure batch quality control is close enough together they their not going to miss. Complete runs of tools that’s out of spec. An at this point. Their molds an tooling have probably been pretty well perfected so there’s no crazy amount of wire that happens extremely fast that they are caught by surprise. An any major issue through the line of production. Say a shattered grinding wheel on a tool of something. The line would be caught an immediately stopped repaired and started again. With whatever few incomplete tools being put back in positions to be ran through a second time. Atleast my take after being in production in a steel mill for a decade. Compared to some of our production an customer spec range an wear on our machines an what we do with things that may be out of some spec an how fast it’s caught an all that jazz

I bought mine straight from Amazon and had to swap them out twice. The jaws just were not lining up. I also bought the 6inch from an actual Knipex dealer and had to warranty them also due to jaws not lining up straight. I’m thinking it’s demand and supply rushing

I returned the ones I just ordered from a third party seller. The machining on them was not great. I ordered some through your link from Amazon and shipped by Amazon. They cost a little more, but it's worth it not to get factory second tools.

You listened to this guy and he has no idea what he's talking about. 'Bulk packaging' is common in Knipex literature, they have 3 types of packaging. Knipex does NOT sell factory seconds to ANYONE period. This video is misleading at best. But if you feel warm & fuzzy getting a carded box and paying more for it, that's fine, but if you think you received factory seconds, you have been misled.
@cincinnatiking80082 ай бұрын
@@aussiehardwood6196 you're right. The pair I got from Amazon was exactly the same as the third party seller. What I thought were flaws were perfectly normal. I've since purchased a bunch of other Knipex tools from third party sellers on Amazon. This video is definitely misleading.

This is a crazy video. You just assume they're "factory seconds" More likely it's OEM packing from a company that buys Knippex by the thousands, and an employee took a bonus when a box "feel off the back" in distribution.
