dude, Suzanne Vega is seriously amazing. She has been consistently making amazing music her whole live. This is such a passionate performance. You can tell she's really feeling it here. So many people talk about her voice and songwriting, which of course is amazing. But nobody ever mentions what an accomplished and original guitar player she is. He style is so rhythmic and natural, it's actually quite unique.

I’m a 60 year old guy and I remember blasting this through my Koss headphones in the day. She is still awesome. Her 2022 live concert recordings make me into a young man again. So I blast it with my new phones. So absolutely awesome.

I can't believe how much c_r_a_p is being watched on this site, and this rare jewel of a brilliant performance in crystal clear audio quality only has 421 views... A shame, if anything, this is.

The chance of finally seeing her in a very intimate venue in 2001 and I have considered her one of my most important contemporary influences in my becoming a professional musician in my earlier life.... After the show I stood in line to have something autographed when she actually recognized me and said "You must be Pepper McGowan," at the time I was an active participant on her fan list discussion group undertow and she doesn't contribute often but was also reading. There'd been discussed a covers project by the Towies (list members) and I had wanted to cover this one if I had been a welcome participant. .... Other than that I didn't know I was that memorable. They have a saying about how it's better we don't meet our idols. This is a very true statement often but not with my Suzanne Vega experience. She was just great.

It's not necessarily the words (in parts, anyway), but more the plaintiveness and tone and haunting quality of this song that get me to return to it perhaps as often as any other song. I feel that this song really hits the notes that I find true to myself in terms of the pain that I often feel, although on the whole, I have started turning towards anger more in recent years. Yes, very recent events have both enflamed me as well as beat me into this corner to where I need to envelop myself in the chords and tones and hauntedness of this song.
