if you look on the end credits on episode 1 series 1 the roman numerals say 1977-or 78 i didnt think knight rider started till 1982 or is it just me also in the episode when kit is driveing through a farm on the dirt you hear the tyres squeel ,how is that possible.

On the stunt Jumps you can see that Kitt was just a empty shell so many moving parts coming off and body panels flexing ! They must of smashed so many up during filming these shots.

Not so much empty, but built on a much smaller, and lighter, vehicle - A dune buggy, I believe. But, yes, it is very noticeable that's there is very little under that shell. :)
