This is why the second season is the best and I have to say the best turbo boost reaction is Michael and April falling back in the seat and the smile on April's face. You can tell they had so much fun doing that show. Also one of the funniest endings of the series

The car in the "Chariot of Gold" was a U.S. spec french made Renault Fuego. The car you are mentioning at 14:01' is an 82', or an 83' Toyota Celica Supra.
@houseofno
@houseofno 3 жыл бұрын
I'm shocked they botched that one. The Toyota Celica Supra and the Fuego Turbo are NOTHING alike, especially since the Fuego Turbo has exposed, fixed rectangular headlamps and the Celica/Supra's are either exposed and laid back (early Celica), completely hidden (Toyota Supra), or covered by a black plastic cover (late Celica).

The comment about Charlenes red car at 14:00 is unfortunately off: Those are two different models, Toyota Celica Supra vs. Renault Fuego. Both cool early eighties coupes, still.

Another great commentary on another brilliant episode,Joe...firstly R.I.P. Micheal Champion...so many great scenes in this one...for me..my favourite Ski-mode..also the first time i noticed the buttons had stickers on them..note someone had tried to put the label on then remove it and try again..you can see the fingerprint smudge..my second favourite jump too..also i love how David gives a quick smile to the camera crew when the H.T.D.D.s are activated...all in all a great episode...so looking forward to the next one..it's going to be a goodie...

Another favorite goof of mine is in the season 3 ep Knight in Retreat with Ann Turkle. Near the end, Michel gets out of KITT to climb onto a box truck and sends KITT after Ann's character who is driving a red 4x4 that shoots "tufflex" bullets out of the spare tire. As KITT prepares to turbo boost over the 4x4, you see his "finger" press the turbo boost button 🤣🤣🤣

Our neighbor Camaro always likes to pay a visit. So here we see that manual car. This one did a lot. Here, then K.A.R.R., then it went to the acid, then it became the transforming SPM. It's clearly the same van. No doubt about it. Another well-made scene with that Turbo Boost. You said that on that episode. This was the first body. Then they made another one much better. These things are just blowing my mind. First, the nose of the manual car is on the insert car. Then the insert car also has the other high traction drop-down system. The fog lights need to be mentioned. I say it again, probably the coolest ones in this entire world. I think this is the very single episode where KITT makes a different tone when Michael presses the Turbo Boost button. This tone is also played when Michael activated the H.T.D.D. function. Maybe they didn't like it, so they never played this tone again. Said to know Edward Mulhare didn't want to do that scene in the end. It was really cool and funny. I think we liked to see Devon, for one single time, not being Devon.

I remember as kid in the early 80s me and my two brothers went to visit our father in Azusa ca, we were riding our bikes and happened to see BIGFOOT the truck on a trailer at a gas station. we were excited to see this huge truck in person it had those famous white rims on it and we asked the truck driver where is BIGFOOT going he told us it's going to Valencia near magic mountain.. at that time it was going to the filming of knight rider which we didn't know until years later I figured it out when i saw BIGFOOT on knight rider and remembered what the truck driver had mentioned... he gave us a small poster of BIGFOOT but unfortunately I don't have that anymore that was a long time ago...

That’s exactly how hydraulics on low riders work. Watching KARR coming out on the sand, I immediately knew (on a recent watch) that car had hydraulics because of the jounce, as I’m told it’s called from my west coast friend. It comes from those rock-hard hydraulic cylinders pushing on the springs. Watch low rider vids and you’ll see the same effect.

HTDD one of the best gadgets that should have been used more. Strange a lot of April's gadgets where only used once and then substituted in later seasons like htdd in the baha race in 4th season to get through the dirt they just said Bonnie beefed up Kitt's suspension system. Then in Sky Knight when Kitt drops from the plane Michael puts a parachute on Kitt but didn't April already install one.

26:34 I wonder how much money they could have saved on paint if they just had ceramic coating back then, also with the high traction drop downs wouldnt that have folded in the body every time they hit a jump, as it seems like you'd really need like a beafed up ladder chassis car for that to work properly, either that or it would have required quite abit of reinforcement for it to work right.

Sounds like they adapted convertible top parts to make the car rise up. Would have to see the pump and so forth, or how it mounted. Surprised they re-used that jump scene, the location is pretty recognizable, a Dukes jump there, it was in a CHiPs episode, maybe the A-Team too.

The rear tires on the high traction drop down kitt car look almost like pickup truck tires, I never knew that car was a stick shift trans-am it's amazing how I find out more interesting things about a television show now that I'm older, actually both of the GMC vans from the episode "race for life" are in the scene when the miniature scale model knight rider car turbo boosts over the miniature scale model kenworth k100 semi truck, the green van with the white and black stripes and as kitt lands the cream colored GMC van is seen, the front view of it😊❤👍

Knight of the Drones…. I always wondered why the car used for the chase sequence had a stock Trans Am front with the factory grills taken out. And that was the insert car? I always figured it was a throwaway stuntcar that they didn’t bother to convert :P I can see why they would want to use the higher traction function driving over all those bumps in San Francisco though :)

The UPC for that product is no longer in use but the prefix 70399 belongs to Dean Foods. They sell diary under many different names but in Southern California they go by either Dean's or Alta Dena. That red and black car in the background at 14:02 is NOT a Fuego Turbo. It's a either a second gen Toyota Celica or Supra (I could have told you which had the left side of the frame hadn't obscured the front bumper on the car). These two vehicles are almost NOTHING alike. The Renault Fuego Turbo has a much more rounded side window, while the rear quarter windows on this generation Celica/Supra are much more triangular. From Goliath Part 2 (paraphrased): KITT: "But Michael, the odds of KRH being able to tell a Renault Fuego Turbo from an early 80s Toyota Supra are *odds calculator self destructs*... my odds calculator just malfunctioned!"

Motocrosser #25 (Jack Gill) keeps switching back and forth between a Honda two-stroke CR (no headlight, expansion chamber), and a Honda XR four-stroke (headlight, tail light, 24:17). The XR being pushed at 14:14 is much smaller than an XR500; it's probably an XR100. An XR500 would be much too tall and heavy for a female to push around easily.
