Great job here Joe (and A.J.) as usual.I always enjoyed this one for many reasons.David is really good here "They didn't kill me before they won't now" and later the whole scene in Gina's apartment when he is talking her into handing over the gun show how convincing he could be.John Vernon was always fun to watch and he actually had to step in to a sequel episode on Airwolf portraying a character originally played by Richard Lynch. The telephone used in Gina's apartment was also a radio shack item.Rosalind Allen was a regular on season 2 of Seaquest DSV portraying a doctor with esp like abilities.The miniatures are very convincingly executed especially the jump into the building.The circuit board bearing the word capstan is for a tape trans port probably from a computer.I recall seeing boards larger than this one used in broadcast 1 inch and larger video tape units which were roughly the size of a medium size desk.The end where kitt asks how do we get me out of here was funny.I always surmised the reverse turbo boost was used or the foundation had to bring in a crane!.when Michael and Kitt are bickering I always liked "don't be such a stick shift in the mud"! Lastly I enjoyed the story of how knight rider received a letter from an irate mom whose son was very upset when "mighty mouthwash ejected out of kitt at the end.Many thanks and looking forward to your future videos!👍👍😀😀

Just to mention that the scene of the left blind driving car arriving at the building. my cousin noticed those hands at the steering wheel...and I didn't notice at first. Those ilets were probably for the cameras filming KITT's pedals. They were great since on season three we got some adrenaline with those green lights on the gas pedal and on the fourth season we got the perfect match with Super Pursuit Mode. Thank you for that last scene. Recreating the original one.

I always wondered that. Wilton Knight arranged for a body for the morgue they discussed in the pilot. But wouldn't someone have had to be called in to make a positive ID for the morgue? that it was Michael Long? Maybe the police department or his fiance Stevie? They would have had to also use a metal plate in his face to match his documented medical history for the war wound. It's funny how Michael never mentioned being engaged until the episode Whitebird. He never even mentioned or showed remorse from his old life going after Bonnie or the girl of the week in each episode.

@Joe - the apartment (8:35) complex was also used in the pilot episode of Street Hawk - it was Jesse’s original apartment in the show. It took me forever to find it. I was checking everywhere around the LA area. Turns out, it was 5 mins from where I live. Interestingly, the apartments are named “Universal Apartments”. I wonder if the studio owns/owned them.

It's possible that Michael Knight's birth date on his driver's license was contrived to prevent enemies with access to public records from making a possible connection between Michael Long's identity and Michael Knight's. Most public identity records are searchable by birth date. I used to work for the DMV in the mid 90s.

Another great Season 2 episode! Michael Knight said something in the episode that Gina's toys were all new in her apartment, and real collector would have older toys too. That is true in my collection at least :) And by the way, it was the ERTL Joyride 1/18 scale KITT model in 2004, that made me start this modelcar hobby :) It was really cool model at the time and later Hotwheels made even nicer KITT and KARR models. The old ones in my collection are my childhood toys from the 70's - 80's :)

One thing that makes Knight Rider so great is the music and the music in this episode is some of the best of the series and the outro music at the end when Kitt ejects MM is the best. They change the outro music every season but I loved the season 2 version

Robert Reily also appears in the 1st season of McGyver. That episode where McGyver needed those specific pills to keep living. Old on a second. That very original talking bear was found? That's really unique. That was a family right there. First, that white Camaro (or Trans Am) when we saw KITT's rear. Then this second black one (I think it's the last version of the 2nd gen Trans Am since the rear window is larger) and then this white 82 Firebird. KITT could always do some magic. I think that Junk Yard Dog was the last where we saw this scene from the Pilot episode.

Personally my favourite episode, and John Vernon was an excellent villain. Wish it had been a two-parter to give it time build up the drama and suspense as it seems a little rushed in places. Great lines from K.I.T.T. with, "Hope this is the right apartment," and "How are we going to get down from here?" Much better then the dreadful, Mouth of the Snake.

I had that black robot for Christmas in i think 88. It came with a little bottle of clear oil. You could put a couple of drops of oil in a hole in the head and it would make make little puffs of smoke. My brother got a red one. We always got the same thing but in different colors so we wouldn't fight but I always got the black one and he'd always get the off color. Because she knew I was practically Michael Knight. True story.

Great video, and details. I always thought, even as a kid, that the scene where kid drives into the apartment block, was wholly fake. Poss early use of green/blue screen. Tho never spotted the different building. But it was a 'layered shot' as far as I could tell. With the seat, did they literally rip out a hole and fit some 'ejector' device on the ground, up through the car...?? All that for a 5 second shot? I think there is a running thing with that bad guy, as was he not a bad guy in Airwolf, and then returned as the same bad guy, years later...? And they never caught him. I have that DVD somewhere I think of Hasselhoff in that other movie.

For the next episode *Mouth of the Snake* some people did not like the fact that Michael and K.I.T.T. are hardly featured in the episode despite the fact that it was originally meant to be a pilot for a new spin-off series. At the time, the reason that Michael and K.I.T.T. are hardly featured in the episode was that David Hasselhoff was having some time off because he and Catherine Hickland were on their honeymoon. What is funny about that is three years after they divorced, she ended up marrying another actor whose name was Michael Edward Knight who played Tad Martin on _All My Children_

One thing has always puzzled me about the scene when Michael gets shot it the pilot. The car appears to be a black and gold recaro trans am, but it has pmd seats. Anyone know if that was a factory option? As I have only ever seen 82 black and gold trans am's as recaro editions, seems odd to be a recaro with no recaros!!

I like your commentary as usual. This is easily one of the best episodes of the show. With Goliath Returns and this fans should be excited about having one great episode after another (I count Goliath Returns as one episode because it's a 2-parter). Cameron Zachary is great villain it's shame that John Vernon returned in voo doo knight in different role.I wish he would have returned in season 3 or maybe being the main villain in scent of roses which would be amazing but it's a shame he didn't cameback as Zachary again.

I think the character Cameron Zachary should have reappeared in season 4 episode "scent of roses" and been the one that shoots and kills Stevie right after she married Michael. That would have made a lot more sense and would have been a lot more personal for Michael.

26:20 I don't believe that this is a model. Notice the plant in a balcony, it looks way too realistic/complex as well as the trees in the background. Plus, compare the view with the view at 20:22. It looks same. You can even see a flower-pot in the balcony, perhaps the same that we see when KITT turbo boosts.
