She was booed for standing up against Vatican crimes against children, which everyone back then knew it was going on. ... Not a fan of her music. But I am a fan of what she did. She’s a hero in my book. All those booing are accessories to the Catholic Priest crimes against children, which the VATICAN covered up & looked the other way, instead of squashing.

I saw her videos she released pleading for help, I admit I was quiet, as I am no therapist or close friend, not long after she ends up dead... she was suicidal, she lost her son barely a year before... IF she did not die of heartache it was definitely not natural causes. Sorry if that offends people, but I do not except such easy solutions for a woman that stayed proactively speaking against the activities of a powerful entity like the churches and/or members involved in such heinous acts. I have always heard my great grandparents and grandparents talk about babies that were found under the floorboards of such churches. and if you look it up in a web search you find a lot of reports on new such events. I have always been against the whole idea of cult churches. ministers let alone Popes should not have such power or reign over people.

I heard that someone once asked Mother Theresa why it was that she never attended anti-war rallies. She answered, "Because I am not interested in war. Invite me to a peace rally and I will attend". When we define our position according to what we are against, we alienate ourselves from the power by which we might have manifested what we are for. When we define our position according to what we are for, the Universe aligns its power with our intention.
@kenmurphy6792
@kenmurphy6792 5 күн бұрын
Okay, let's re-define our intentions then. A person who wishes to redress their government is required to state his or her grievances in specific terms and not just simply state that they are 'for' the 1st amendment, so it then becomes necessary to articulate what you are against or what you are 'anti' so to speak. If it's defined as an 'anti-war' rally then it's obviously a 'pro-peace' rally. Both terms indicate the same objective .. 'end the war', but I think that describing the rally as an 'anti-war' rally is a bit more specific. [ imho ] ~

3,000 French Catholic priests sexually abused over 333,000 French children, of which 80% were male. The number of pedophile Catholic priests abusing children over all nations is horribly shocking: 1,300 in Ireland, 1,670 in Germany, 2,500 in USA, etc. In total, millions of children abused by sick men, covered up by an institution supported by billions of people. So, you could say that she understood the cancer of the church before the math was even published!

I can't stand when women use words like "War" as if to encourage fighting, but its us men who for the most part go off and fight it on most fields directly. I did my time in the army in national service, a service which women in my country don't have to do and it eggs me even to this day when I hear mothers who say "I would gladly send my child off to fight." I was a teen when I saw her SNL performance and I quickly found out EXACTLY what she was protesting even back then... without internet at that. It was how I learned about the abuse that was absolutely happening & I was appalled at & happy none of my siblings, myself, my cousins, or my friends had to experience from a place we were supposed to feel the safest. I was angered that it took a decade for them to FINALLY admit it was all true... and Ms. O'Connor was brave enough to bring it to light. Can you imagine if she hadn't? Been too afraid or selfish and turn a blind eye? How many more children would have suffered by the very people in the very place they were supposed to be most protected and loved? SO. As a former Catholic... she was a true hero to me - Speaking out when no one wanted to listen or believe her. And thank god she did, because eventually the voices of all those abused kids were FINALLY heard. And for anyone who still dismisses her and what I see as brave as fuck - because she put her WHOLE career on the line for the safety of children - Ask yourself if you discovered an abuse as huge that no one was admitting or acknowledging, would you stand up and be the hero the abused needed at the risk of losing everything yourself? If that is crazy, unstable, looney... Just remember that you have what you have today because someone was brave enough to go against the "all powerful" at the risk of losing everything (and even their lives depending on the time period & cause). It was War. A silent war... and it still is.

She turned to Islam where in fact child marriage is still happening so this shows how little she is aware of the real world.

Exactly. Sinead O’Connor was not a warrior. She certainly was not very intelligent. She is just a woman with a very hateful soul who wanted to cause anger to as many people as possible. If she had a specific grievance against a few specific persons, then she should have articulated that very specifically Tearing up the picture of a person who represents a belief system and spiritual path for millions of people basically insults everything that is decent and good about humanity Her act of tearing up the picture of the pope actually prove that she was a very hateful, angry person and defied everything that was good in the world She just created anger and hatred, far more without explaining any of her specific grievances

The world most of the time were and are blind or indifferent. We never able to recognize a visionary walking among us, who able to see the truth and justice of our ways. Sinead was way ahead of her times and paid the price for it. Imagine if the world had listened, may be some innocent children could be spared from the abuse. It's tragic to honor someone only after she died but not able to appreciate her worth when she lived. Some of the people paying tribute at her funeral could be the same people who threw stones at her when she lived. The audacity and blatant hypocrisy of it is totally unbearable. These people dare to show their face to 'mourn'.

People go see entertainment from entertainers. NOT THEIR POLITICS OR SOCIAL COMMENTARY. The audience was correct in their response. It really is that simple. She should not be commended as being brave. She was there to entertain not protest. If she wants to protest or make social comments then hold a press conference and make your views known that way. Also put your money where your mouth is and pour it and your fame into a cause on your own time not on the people’s time to be entertained. Her views may have justified and needed to be said just not in that situation.
