Sinead wasn't ''Fearless'' as you put it. She had fear and felt the same way you or I would feel with vultures and sharks snapping at our flesh just trying to get a better bite in to do as much damage as possible. Sinead O'Connor had bravery and guts. She had the cognitive prowess to speak clearly on what is so wrong in the world regarding what we are all spoon fed through media outlets and then the guts to confront it, face it head on, and, with an awful lot to lose. She had spirit, guts and determination because she cared about love, families and disadvantageous people from every place over the globe. RIP sweetheart, I know I will meet you one day in the ether:)

Sinead was ahead of her time and she has ALWAYS been a real one. She was hung out to dry for her beliefs and ultimately, people are just now seeing she was absolutely right. They were so angry with her for daring to call out injustice and division and yes, abuse and pedophilia hiding in religious institutions. Sinead was a queen and people aren’t made of the stuff she was made of. I hope she can finally get some rest and relief. Rest well Sinead.

Well said....but....some of us did know back then exactly what she was saying, and were also shouted down for supporting her. I grew up with her (I'm exactly the same age as her and come from the area she grew up in) and knew precisely what message she was conveying. I don't mean that in a bravado kind of way, just that for every 100 people or so she pissed off she also inspired at least one, like my humble self. And the truth always comes out in the end of course. She will never be forgotten here in Ireland and her work and words will live on eternally like Yeats, Beckett, Synge and Wilde. 💚

I am all broken up, Sinead. I am 50 years old and I heard the song "Mandinka" when I was only 14, and then later heard this song on this video. I am Cherokee. My people originated from North Carolina, but I grew up in Washington D.C. It changed my life. You were a HUGE influence on the trajectory I chose to go: That of a bold, outspoken woman, and I, too, have been crucified for it. I am an Indigenous Rights Activist for 36 years and walked across the country until my feet bled into the ground for the American Indian Movement on the Walk Across America in 1992 and then was a National Bernie Sanders Delegate against Donald Trump, and got crucified for being outspoken in America, so I moved to Canada. I know you felt alone and broken and nobody was telling you they loved you. I know that you even went on Dr. Phil b/c you were in crisis and I knew what was in your heart the whole time. You were angel who blessed us all and gave us so much...I will never forget you and I I will NEVER forget the influence you had on me as a teenager. The song on this video is that introduced me to your deeply soulful voice and that, along with "Mandinka" which changed me as a teenager who grew up in a troubled home and abusive and alcoholic home. YOUR SONGS CAME THROUGH ON MY WALKMAN AND ENCOURAGED ME TO LIVE AND SURVIVE ANOTHER DAY. I am broken up that you have passed. My mother died at same age: 56. This will also haunt me forever. The world, as always, especially America, will tell you how much they loved you after the fact. I am grieving hard, for the empath and sensitive, loving and deeply bold and outspoken women you were and for all of the people who put you through hell and they will all come back and regret that you are gone, but they did not tell you in this life how much they loved you. You were so ICONIC in the late eighties when you came out: LION AND THE COBRA! I will never forget when my friend Wendy introduced me to that album. NOTHING COULD EVER COMPARE TO YOU, SINEAD! NOTHING! You are absolutely incredible and were so beautiful. WELL BEHAVED WOMEN RARELY MAKE HISTORY AND YOU, MY FRIEND, WILL GO DOWN AS THE BEST, A LEGEND. THIS INDIGENOUS WARRIOR WOMAN HERE IS CRYING, WISHING YOU WERE BACK, BUT I WILL SEE YOU UP THERE, IN THE CELESTIAL REALMS. I LOVE YOU, R.

yes so beautiful - still I never liked that expression - ahead of her time - people say that to me all the time and it just saddens me and I feel like more of an outcast and get confused - like people need to catch up to me? I don't think it's about being ahead of individuals I think it's about seeing a truth and being suppressed by society instead of welcomed. Unfortunately time brings things to justice - but not always - we learn from our mistakes - so let's learn by paying attention to artists and supporting who speak truth instead of being part of suppressing them.

I met Sinead in wilmette Illinois later on in her life . She had put on weight and aged like we all did . I could see her pain 💔 in her gorgeous grey eyes and all that pain she endured lifelong. Many are unaware of the demons that tortured her . She was a beautiful mystical creature that was to fragile for this world yet strong and fierce to protect others . She was wearing a shapless grey dress and stradeling her bike that had a wicker basket full of fliwers and fruits and vegetables. At the farmers market. Unless you knew her like myself she blended in with the scenery. A beautiful fall day in illinois the smell of Halloween and an amazing human being. I will never forget

Yes ..us Empaths are so misunderstood b c most humans are self centered and greedy the same reason the government tried to extinct our people Cherokee..eastern band wolf clan and still to this day treat our heritage like dirt ....thank God for our culture teaching us how to survive and give thanks to our Creator as we diligently walk down the red road .I was bullied by many as I was called half breed and go back to the reservation..my reply to this was go back to THE ORIGINAL PLACE YOU CAME FROM INTRUDER ..THIS WAS OUR LAND YOU STOLE !! I believe her song here sounds like what happened to our tribes ..I am 65 percent Native and Scottish ..so both of my ancestors were cruelly treated with no resolve .IT hurts my heart deeply to know the torcher they endured just to survive .The sadness of mind body and spirit destroyed our dignity our food our water so we were left for certain death BUT OUR SPIRIT WAS / IS much stronger deeper than their greed can go
@deeberry65011 ай бұрын
@nikkiloveslife4841 no one would could begin to know what life entails for an Empath on a daily basis. Our hearts are pure loving and kind moreover, that is why folks animals and children are drawn to our shining lights. However, being vulnerable is a huge concern as not so nice people take complete advantage of our good nature!! Unfortunately, we get our hearts broken time and again feeling others pain from whatever reason .It gets pretty taxing sometimes but we have big shoulders ..lol We are deep thinkers often to a fault ..we seek answers to where when why and how far plus never give up until an issue is resolved .I never knew there was a name for our character until two years ago .My life would've been more fulfilling if I had known the meaning of our mission from God . Thank you so much for responding it's refreshing to find like people and know the other dark side of being so sensitive .When we need our batteries recharged ( many times) the simple calming of Mother EARTH environment s like listening to the rain dropping steadily on a tin roof ,a walk on the beach or hike in the mountains .These are pleasures that God graciously gave to us as his creation...with the hectic world we now live in people do not stop long enough to smell the roses and its a shame cuz there is such beauty in God's paint brush.Blessings to you hun and to all .

Not to start a debate or anything but I always roll my eyes in exasperation when I hear yet another "_insert name_ was wayyyy ahead of their time!" ... It's just people like her or anybody else for that matter who stood up for something when it wasn't fashionable to be like that on twitter, that made "this time" possible (whatever that even is) as opposed to "their time". Values are timeless, and when somebody 30 or 300 years ago had them they weren't "ahead of their time", they just had these values. The world being what is sometimes makes people (culture) forget but it's not like some time ago people wouldn't be able to discern right from wrong. Ok, sermon over, back to the song.
