I came upon this video about a year ago and I probably watch it 2-3x a month. I've been doing this exact deep 1/2 "system" for a year. I'm near 50 overweight, slow unathletic, inflexible, short legs..... and this is the equalizer! I sweep everyone every time end up on top and attack. I added in a few dog fight/coyote guard techniques and the two work real well together. Thank you so much for this video!

That’s awesome to hear. Thank you for this comment, and I appreciate that it has helped like that over time. This has been a huge staple of my game too, especially with age and injuries.

I most of the time managed to get into half guard, but never know what to do after. This is something i probably able to do when i am in that position again. Just need to watch it for another 100 times so it drills in my brain 😆👍 hope i manage it. Until next week..lets see how it goes!

Think about how specific a niche this is to be disappointed: they're into a sport the general public isn't interested in, a specific position in that sport out of the hundreds of different topics to search for, from a specific person who they're probably already familiar with if they've gotten this far to search YT videos of it. Only to thumbs down.

Really good advice! One thing I picked up from Chewie’s videos was that as you go for that underhook to tuck your arm to your opponent’s chest and drive the elbow in first (as opposed to going knife hand in first). Prevents them from grabbing and trapping the arm.
