@sheriyar khan stark - There's a lot that can go into answering that. I have a couple wall pin videos on here, but not sure if they really hit what you're asking. Check them out though.

@@KnightJiuJitsu excellent content every time. Jiu Jitsu comes in handy for sure. I was wrestling with a friend of mine the other day. Mind you, I've probably only taken a half a dozen classes ever. Within five minutes, I locked in a triangle choke. I didn't go any further but my buddy knew I owned them. That being said, I need to make a trip to Paducah on the regular to train with you.

We say at the studio in Taekwon-Do, "put the attacker on the defensive". Your attacker got you, now you got him... any martial arts practitioner who practices self defense techniques should look to injure opponent rather than looking to hurt them. Hurt in pain that you can push through, and being injured is when you've lost mobility

I saw a Muay Thai clinch, a strike and a knee. Which part of the self-defense was bjj? Useful stuff but a bit misleading.
@brandonovich60634 жыл бұрын
This is on concepts and a short video, clinching is part of grappling BJJ is also grappling. I would think there's a full video available
@KnightJiuJitsu4 жыл бұрын
The collar tie and double collar tie exist in multiple martial arts, but yes, it does tend to represent Muay Thai more than anything. However, the concepts discussed and approach is from a Jiu-Jitsu and self defense perspective, also mentioned and related to a grappling context. Not intended to be misleading and I don’t think it detracts from the content of the discussion.

I've actually been practicing BJJ for some years, and was surprised with the video. I think at this point I've spent a disproportionate amount of time improving the ground game, and nearly not enough in throws and takedowns. Wouldn't those be much more useful for self defense?
@KnightJiuJitsu4 жыл бұрын
Throws and takedowns, especially ones that don’t require you necessarily going to the ground with the opponent are very important to know for self defense, in my opinion.
