I love the show. I only love the car because it's in the show. But generally don't like, nay, hate/loathe the Pontiac brand, anything GMC. Im a die hard Ford nut. As such the 2009 reboot KITT is sleeker and cleaner. I am not saying the classic is not great. The classic, the original show is great. Without it, the 2009 wouldn't have a premise. I still like the 2009 much better.

Makes me laugh how they bent a crow bar to illustrate how tough Kitt's shell is.........yet they don't realise they've revealed two humans with super human strength, who can create enough leverage to completely bend crow bars :)

What shell? KITT's shell was neutralized during Episode 1 of season 4 and (this is season 4, btw) Super Pursuit Mode was created to take it's place because they no longer could create the recipe to recreate his bonded shell. KITT shouldn't be able to mess up a crow bar, and definitely shouldn't be bulletproof anymore.

@@MarkTEwing KITT mentions his shell again in the late season 4 episode Knight Flight to Freedom as he's passing through the lava unscathed. There were also numerous season 4 episodes that depicted KITT as still being bullet/rocket/projectile proof, etc. (Many Happy Returns and Killer KITT come to mind, along with this episode). I always assumed they reapplied the shell after Jennifer Knight restored funding to the Foundation, as that was the reason they didn't have the resources to reapply it in Knight of the Juggernaut, not because they couldn't recreate the formula.

KITT was entirely made from a new material, and molecular bonding was mentioned only in context of how the black finish was connected with the material. In other words KITT was never painted black, the material was made black. MBS only turned up later when script writers misunderstood this, and used for scripting Goliath encounter.

KITT's shell was obviously restored after "Juggernaut" using Devon's knowledge and that of Dr. Von Voormann from "JYD" (Whom I theorise was the third guy who had the formula), plus if I were them, I'd call April and Elliott for their heat resistant formulas to beef it up, and make the shell denser (How else do you explain KITT surviving the molten lava)
