I'm more of an LMT guy since it's easier to get replacement parts than a KAC but they still make a fantastic rifle. Love my specwar, the 12.5 midlength system is extremely smooth

Here's the thing...the heaver barrel exponentially increases the weapons accuracy potential... With my LMT 16in Chorme lined... I get sub MOA Groups @ 100 meters . I do believe LMT produces a much lighter profile barrel...especially in 7.62x51.

With this current inflation and the cost of living overall, this gorgeous thing is well outside my price range. A mid-tier rifle is where I'm at; preferably a BCM RECCE 16 with M-Lock rail, but those fucking things are hard as hell to find. My backup choice is a FN TAC3 Duty. At least with the TAC3, I'm getting a good barrel.

Bro this video is sooo on point about this rifle. I have shot a lot of high end rifles (Triarc, DD, POF, LWRC ECT) I can say that some of them comes close but that KAC shines at the top. I bought the 14.5 and loved it so much I sold my other rifle to get the 11.5 which is my favorite now. With the proper gas and soft shooting it is unstoppable. As of right know I am out of the AR market because nothing else compares to my Knights.

The 11.5 is particularly cool. I think you can custom build an AR that can come close or even out perform a KAC but you can't use their bolt which kinda sucks. That's sorta the one thing they have going that you can't replicate.

I just got the call and my KAC SR15 will be at my FFL next week. I got on a list and only had to wait about a month and I only paid retail for it. I was so close to overpaying on Gun Broker, but I’m glad I waited patiently. I already have an LMT Mars and an HK MR556, so I can’t wait to see how this gun stacks up. I’m sure it’s going to be awesome. BTW, I’m not bragging about the guns I have and I’m not rich. This is America…if you work hard and stay focused all of your gun dreams can come true.

Awesome Video. I have progressed from RRA, DD, Noveske, Geissele, LMT, Radian, and now finally KAC. You do have to pay to play with the big dogs but if you can afford nice things then it is a no brainer. Sure, those others I mentioned should suffice the average joe and I am here to say that you do not need a KAC. This is for the people that want a KAC, get one and you will never look back.

when i was looking for my first AR i did my homework and got it down to a KAC, LMT, or LWRCI, and went into my LGS one day out of blue and asked if they had any good ARs in like KAC and the guy looked at me and said he literally just got 1 new SR15 2 hours ago and its still in the back and i didnt even think twice and told him i wanted it, he brought it out and i asked him how much was it he told me $2600 and thought id try and shoot my shot and asked him if hed do $2400 and he said sure 😂 so i ended up buying my SR-15 E3 Mod 2 for $2400.

I got mine before all the hype started in 2019. 2300 bucks. Best rifle I have. Accurate, lightweight, reliable, and super smooth shooting. I also run the rc2 and it works wonderfully.

The bend in the gas tube is there by design. The intent is since the bends get hotter (or is it just the metal's thinner?) than the rest of the tube, that area was intended to be a designed weak point. It was tuned so the gas tube would blowout before the barrel overheats to the point the metal structure would change. Now that barrel materials can be more advanced, I'm not sure if that temp has changed much. The bends are a safety stop before a catastophic failure. Kind of like a rev limiter on a car. Sig has used rounded bolt lugs/extensions in MCX's since Virtus. Huge increase in longevity. If it bothers you, source one spare. If you can afford the gun and all the ammo it'll take to break one, you can afford a spare. The KAC is a fantastic rifle, but I agree not worth the ransom prices people seem to be paying. Stoner designed the original gas tube, and KAC’s gas tube. I believe it’s safe to say that KAC’s gas system should now be the standard. If the father of the original design, improve his design, we should all take note. I own two complete KAC rifles and three additional KAC uppers, I would argue that KAC is the standard that all AR rifle’s should be measured to. The KAC rifle is what would Stoner do (WWSD). The private market is a bit nuts, but even in this market I’ve been able to buy KAC products at MSRP.

(me, LOL) I believe that I possibly have the only SR 15 in the state of Hawaii, but for certain the Island of Oahu. I bring this up only for the reason that *I* am the "local" market, lol. About 10 years ago I saw my rifle hanging on the wall at one of the few gun stores on the Island and paid a "Paradise Tax", which ended up costing me 3k for the once in a lifetime opportunity and privilege of owning one.

KAC's are great guns, but there is no such thing as "the best". There are several excellent options out there and none of them are cheap. I own 3 KAC's and have found that my Hodge Guns are my personal favorites. The reason the upper receiver is notched is for the new URX Knights rail.

Look I absolutely love my kac sr15 but it's not the second coming of Jesus or anything. I truly believe my POF P415 will leave it in the dust in a Zombie Apocolypse situation. The p415 doesn't ever hardly get dirty at all. Cleanest running gun I've ever owned by far. And 100% reliable after about 7K rounds. I have about 3000 thru my Kac and so far so good but it gets a lot more gunked up and won't shoot lower powered steel ammo very well. My P415 will chew up anything you feed it nomatter how dirty it is. I've only cleaned it 3-4 times. The kac shoots a little smoother tho and maybe a tad more accurate

@@715Tactical not putting down kac at all, I love my sr15, it's awesome and the smoothest rifle I've ever owned for sure. I just like piston guns I guess but at the top there can't just be one. They are all too close in quality I think. Their are probably about 10 brands at the top that are all so close that I think it's just impossible to say 1 is the ultimate over the others

My SR-15 is not my most expensive blaster but definitely my most trusted by far. Very similar set up minus dbal( I haven't ventured into night vision... yet) I rock the cgs helios for my can.

While I do have a rather large crush on the KAC SR-15, I don't think it's something I will be getting anytime soon.. If anything, I *might* buy a KAC upper and/or lower sometime down the line. Kinda sucks that KAC rifles use proprietary parts for some of the core components (E3 bolt, barrel and gas system). Which makes them not compatible with your AR-15 style uppers. I few months back, I picked up the new Daniel Defense M4A1 RIS III and have been very happy with it.. amazing rifle tbh! I guess it will have to suffice.. 😏🤘

My dads best friend passed away and he had 2 big gun safes, his dad is still living and he called my dad to see if he wanted to buy any of his firearms.. we got over to his house and another good friend of his was there loading up two ARs in his car. They were already spoken for. Some very very nice guns I don’t really want to specify what they were lol. I walked inside and he showed me two nice 1911 pistols but they were very pricey. He showed me a basic m4, and then he pulled out a OD green KAC sr15 with a Eotech, tripod, upgraded stock and handle. He sold me that gun maybe a month ago now. I didn’t realize what I even had tbh until I started looking into it. A few days ago. I haven’t even shot it yet. I got it for 1700 or 1500 cash. I bought a few other items from him for offshore fishing and I always give him fresh grouper and snapper. I’m grateful to have gotten my stoner for such s good price.

If you got the coin, why not? But after shooting a friend's KAC, I mean its a buttery smooth rifle, but I can't justify double the cost of rifles certainly comparable in smoothness, especially with a few rather inexpensive upgrades like the giessle buffer spring and whatever weight works. Idk man im sure if I could afford one I'd buy it though 😂

The carbine gas location for a 14.5 on most barrels to 16" is pure junk. Riflw lengt on a 16" is ideal.

DD is just as good now outside of the gas system and maybe the bolt. KAC is a more tuned DD and I would actually argue that DD barrels are better. DD rifles are usually available and the DDM4A1 RIII with a Geissele trigger added and you are still cheaper than a KAC rifle and it’s FULL ambi out of the box. Don’t get me wrong, if you have to have a KAC, get it. They are definitely at the top of the AR food chain and if you want clout, that’s the rifle to have!!

I'm with you on this.. I own the DD M4A1 RIS III and MK18 RIS II and absolutely love them. I do love the SR-15 and SR-25 rifles, but I'm not about to drop that much $$$$ on a rifle. I'm in the process of building out a 13.7 using a MARS-L lower.. undecided on the upper components. I do have a Criterion 13.9 barrel in waiting tho.

$3000+ and can't handle lower power ammo. I understand why, but that doesnt make it anymore appealing to me. In a SHTF or economic collapse type of situation, I'd like to be able to reliably cycle any ammo I may be forced to use. I dont like steel either, but its plentiful and its comforting to know that my rifle will eat it if thats all I can find to feed it. To me, thats a little more important than 1/2 moa gain in accuracy. Not to mention parts compatibility with more commonly found rifles. A match rifle? Absolutely. A SHTF rifle? I dont think so. JMHO.

At some point the price of a rifle far exceeds its value IMHO. The SR15 is an incredible rifle for sure, but when you can find an LMT MRP which is right alongside this rifle for less than 2500 and even around 2200, the SR15 is way overpriced. Paying over 4000 for this rifle outrageous.

A2 pistol grip $25 magpul base model stock Mil spec changing handle Mil spec trigger Mil spec buffer Proprietary bolt and parts so you cant replace them, since they are never in stock. Ih and when they are in stock they get bought immediately at hundreds and thousands of dollars. KAC isnt the pinnacle of anything except stupidity.
