They broke so many things when they made Janos a king instead of a regent. Now when you play as Hungary, events that kill your heir can fire for Ladislaus, and if they do and you don't get a 15y/o heir at any point by 1457, you get to keep Janos forever. And if you do get Ladislaus, there's a pretty high chance that he'll have an heir immediately afterwards, which stops the event from firing. And even if it did fire, Austria's Ladislaus doesn't die. Paradox and messy implementations go hand in hand.

Indeed, the decision to make Ladislaus the austrian heir aswell without updating the events made this really strange. They need to put the death events together, one triggering the other. I had Hungary gaining PU over Austria with Ladislaus in my Russia campaign, because he died in Austria but lived on in Hungary. Pls Paradox, unite Ladislaus !

I love your channel and playstyle Monk. Long time watcher. That being said, I would love for you to outline your strategy in the first or second episode. Same thing with Holy Broken Empire (still waiting for a follow up on that series). Its easier to follow along and I enjoy watching how you go about implement your strategy. I feel like it makes for a more fun Lets Play instead of me trying to guess what the strategy is. Also, I'm dumb and I like to know what you are thinking; its enormously helpful in my own games. We're kinda used to you talking about a no war episode and then declaring 1-3 high struggle wars a little later, so that you didn't *actually* declare a war anyway this episode came as something of a surprise :P

You should have lowered maintenance while waiting for your manpower to refresh. The lower reinforcement does not matter, if your manpower is the limiting factor anyway.

I need these low war episodes. I look at what you are doing in relation to other stuff going on. If i wanted to see battle after battle i would be watching a total war let's watch.

It's a shame that shifting to Orthodox stops you from forming the Kingdom of Jerusalem, it would make it way easier to shift to Orthodox for better internal stability

5sparks it's very logical though, crusades have always been promoted by the Roman pope, so an orthodox led crusader kingdom isn't very historically accurate

That's why in my run I restarted until I got a +1 stab event. Monk missed a huge opportunity when he got it in part 1 - if he'd stabbed up before that, the unique decision the Knights have would've allowed him to start converting much faster, which all but solves your internal stability problems. The Sunni provinces are still a pain since you're supposed to be blobbing in Anatolia, but it's a lot better when you don't have to deal with the Orthodox provinces at the same time.

I have tired Orthodox knights and its 10 times harder than catholic because of the heretic diplomacy, I could not make it work myself. Yeah Coffer I was thinking that, my perfect start for the knights rebel problem is to ride a stab event to +2 and take that.

In my experience, when Austria loses emperor position, it expands like mad. A bit like England: oh well i lost all mainland provinces so i might aswell just colonize a bit. Austria goes: oh well i lost emperorship so i might aswell expand just like Ottoderps do.

the attack on the crete rebelstack was a very poor decision despite the fumble with the retreat. Build cogs to match your 11 stack so you can get them across in 1 go. This utility is much more important than trying to challenge vastly superior naval forces with heavies within an inland sea, try get a strong naval ally now you've got the wannabe PLC as ally already. Milan often blobs a bit before it gets in over it's head and is reduced to it's original size or worse. The naval ally doesn't need to be top tier even, just enough distraction to get your full stack where you want it. A little risky but worth it with the added bonus of being able to cope with island rebels

Why aren't you teching and taking the missions? It seems you could use the bonuses. Also you would have had a little Innovativeness, saving a monarch point here and there (very minor effect)
