actually 2, The Austrian Civil war, between the Austrofacists and Socialists and lasted 13 days in February. And then the July putsch, which was a 5 day civil war between the Austrofacists and the Nasis in the same year

Engelbert Dolfuss as Chancellor, a few scenes of Chancellor Kurt von Schuschnigg following Dollfuss' assassination by German National Socialists, made this a pretty interesting little video but would have appreciated some narration and captions. Clerical Fascism was an interesting brand of Austrian dictatorship molded upon the Catholic model of organization.

For those that don't know, this was an Austrian Fascist party which was opposed to the National-Socialist Party. In that the main point of divergence was the the submission to Germany (Nazi Party) rather than leading it from Austria. This goes back to the Austrians seeing themselves as the leaders of the German people, not the Prussians. Obviously this was an abysmal failure as most Austrians saw it more logical to integrate Germany than some misguided Austrian nationalist ideal

@@gch8810 I love the Ständestaat's Confessional Catholicism, and how it permeated every aspect of Austrian public and, specially, private, life, then, but I also do love the idea of Aryan Germanic Pan-Germanism - I truly do wish that there was a way to conciliate the two of them - It would probably be possible, in fact, had it not been for the damned anti-Catholic and anticlerical ((Protestant Revolution)). I say this because the "NS" Party did not claim any one of the two Christian denominations because half of Germany was, then, Catholic, and the other half, protestant. They would lose half of the country's votes, if they had done so.
