I want to thank Knight Transportation for allowing me to be a part of this series and most importantly.. dedicating this episode to my brother.. Christopher "Buddy Holly" Norrup. I truly made a friend. Kevin and I will be friends for a lifetime.

I love the knights videos, they rebuild my faith in Cooperate America. It sure speaks loudly when a company will go out of their way to put management out with the people in the trenches. To try to achieve a first hand understanding of what their work day looks and feels like. With so many company's the best you can expect in that area is some lip service. I got to believe its a lot easier for company to be successful when it has a happy workforce. Its not all about money, a big part of work life is about building relationships which builds loyalty. VERY NICE.

"Your the face of Knight" it was funny Mr. Masut because of circumstances, but very true for all drivers. Live Oak Canyon road, near my home neighborhood. Thank you for sharing this video.

All these vids have been great insight of what the drivers do every day, I hope it doesn't get forgotten soon. Like to see what goes on inside the maintenance garage. Keep up the good work Knight.

Best one yet. The legacy of his brother and his willingness to be upfront with issues, Rich showed to be an asset to Knight if theyll utilize him.

Thx. If I may take advantage of this opportunity and ask a question: w/Knight, is training like team driving OR is the trainer sitting beside you when you're driving? (I am looking around and this is a BIG issue for who I will choose)
@1masut8 жыл бұрын
Gerry Austin trainer sits beside you in the beginning. then it depends on the trainer. most will team. Best if you call a recruiter to get accurate details

This is a great series. Love that your taking people from the administrative side of a trucking company and having them ride in a big rig to see how it is. Makes for a better team overall and I believe a better company. Wish all trucking companies did the same. Keep it up.

We learn a lot by riding with our driving associates. If only we could film them all. Unfortunately we only record a small fraction of them.

i have been watching this series and i think it's wonderful that knight transportation is sending executive staff out with a truck to see the other side of the business. i wish my employer would consider doing the same. dedicating this episode to buddy holly is absolutely amazing. i will keep looking for new episodes.

Enjoyed your series of videos. You guys seem to be a great company to drive for and you certainly care about your drivers. I drive for one of Australia's largest transport companies (the one with the green trucks) and wish our managers would step out of their ivory towers and see what goes on first hand, rather than just tell us how to do our jobs then threaten us with termination if we screw up. I rarely see my immediate supervisor and my manager doesn't know who I am even when I walk past him.
@KnightTransportation18 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about how it is for you in Australia. We really appreciate our driving associates and work hard to make their job better.

Does Knight have APUs on their trucks? If not how do you keep cool in hot weather?
@davidgeorge0004 жыл бұрын
You run the truck but they take your bonus away if you do. Same goes for winter, either freeze and get bonus or stay warm and loose bonus. There is a aux diesel heater if it works. The don't have any qualified mechanics to fix the heaters. If your a/c goes out to bad take it to a company shop to fix. That may be 2 to 3 days away.

It's been about a year since I've worked at knight but when I did the app have you codes that showed it was a live load/drop n hook. It's shown in a weird way but your dispatcher would tell you how to read it. It's not hard
@1masut8 жыл бұрын
Chaz E lol well I didn't know that... the COO didn't know that. We figured it out with some calls. My point was maybe orientation should be sharing this little tidbit bit?

On the app. where it says a driver load. that tells if it is a pre load or not.

Hi love watching your videos and the country you go through nothing like that in Scotland, nearest motorway is about 200 miles away. What sort of speed do you do? as you all seem laid back and enjoy your work, not like the rat race in England. Cant wait for the next one thank you maurice

Thank you for watching. I bet the roads in Scotland have their own beauty. The speed limit varies depending on the road and state regulations.

Knight Transportation I was halfway kidding. Once people understand that this is more of a lifestyle than a job the transition from 9-5 jobs to driving truck would be more of a challenging adventure than trying to make a unyielding industry into something they want rather than finding the good in the adventure

OK lets be for real here. While I appreciate what they are trying to do? bottom line is, every executive filmed "sacrificing" by going over the road for a day or two still has a main objective regardless, MAKE MONEY. Mo Money, Mo Money. You do that one of two ways, reducing expenses or increasing income. Usually? is is the former. reducing expenses. And who is the "driving" force behind them making money? THE DRIVERS. Reduce the expenditures where drivers are concerned? you increase profit margins. Its pretty simply and elementary. Maybe I am jaded, but that is what the driving industry has been doing for years. Hook or crook, make more money. Who pays ultimately for it? the drivers.
@1masut4 жыл бұрын
The issues I pointed out were the wasted movement and lack of communication. At the end of the day it was the driver who suffered the loss.
