I carry my knipex cobra (the 5 inch /10cm cobra not the xs) attached to my keychain. The easiest way is to use a cord that snugly fits from the backside through the upper handle and then arround the lower handle. It stays closed and securely attached if the cord is just the right size.

They're called Pliers Wrench by Knipex their German manufacturer. It does all the adjustable 'spanner'(Crescent wrench) work, but does it better. The fact that you can squeeze the handle super tightly on fasteners is so very useful & also can open up fast to be able to quickly 'ratchet' back & forth. Unlike crescent wrenches that must be removed off nut\bolt each time & snugged up to tighten each turn. Both are useful but one is the better choice & #1 in quality!👌🏻👍🏻🔧🔩🛠️

Because it's high quality German made tool, not a cheap, made in China, piece of garbage. Even the detailed teeth are hardened. These are precision enough to use as tweezers in a pinch(the jaws are that tight!)! In 2024, is $35-$40 really that much money? Yeah I agree that the 'size per $' a lil high but this is a tool that will never wear out, break, or fail. Only way it will be replaced is when it's lost\stolen! I carry a slightly bigger 125mm(~5") pair in a (hip)holster along w\ nice bright flashlight everyday and of course a knife clipped to pocket. You'd be surprised how often you need(or could use) a pair of pliers in your daily life. #EDC 👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧📏🔩

@simonh6371
@simonh6371 Жыл бұрын
The Cobra has teeth so on a soft nut or bolt it could damage the head. The Pliers Wrench is smooth so it can't damage the head. But the Cobra is better as an EDC and costs about half the price.
@tdotw77
@tdotw77 24 күн бұрын
Yes, if picking just one for EDC, go Cobra 1st then add Pliers Wrench possibly in the future. Honestly the pliers wrench is only really useful if you're gripping the flats of soft (brass, copper, plastic) hex fasteners & trying to not harm the (chrome, plated)polished surface on finished faucets & trim pieces like that. Basically something you would use a crescent wrench on instead of 'channel locks'. I really don't see a reason to EDC a PW🔧 especially this small. The bigger 6" -8" PW are perfect though for a plumber or someone doing that kind of finish work. Personally I carry the 125mm Cobras along w\ f.light in a holster everyday. You'd be surprised when you need a pair of pliers. I much rather have these that can actually do work versus all those 100's of so-called multi-tools that break at the pliers head whenever you try to actually use them for pliers things!! 😅👍🏻👌🏻

The next size up 125mm(5") does have the coating and they're also better sized imo, 4" is kinda small to work with, especially with large hands, the 125's are still small enough to EDC but can still do actual work, while still being precise enough to tweeze a sliver out! 🛠️🔧🔩👍🏻👌🏻
