Just discovered your videos today and I love them! You are relaxed, not hyper, and it's easy to understand your directions. I've sewn for decades and am now getting back to sewing clothing for myself after quilting for about 20 years. Fitting has become a huge issue and has been a brick wall for me. Thanks to many videos, I've discovered how to really accomplish rounded back pattern alterations. I just ordered this pattern and look forward to making it. Thank you!

Looking at the line art made me think this pattern was not for me, but I love your finished tops. I'm sure your inspired fabric choices made the difference. Thank you for showing us what can be done. They're beautiful.

Thank you for your wonderful video. I wouldn't have thought to fold the pin tucks inward, but definitely will. I also like your addition of the back yolk!

I recently got both these patterns! Your maroon Juliet long sleeved top would look good not only with the maroon pants it would look good with black as you mentioned. I think it would so look great with a forest green pant! You would really rock that!

oh this is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing how you made this. I have the pattern but not made it yet, I love the pintuck version but as a beginner, I was unsure if I could manage it, you've given me the confidence to try.

I bought this pattern as soon as I got home from work because of all the possibilities! It will be great for stash and scrap busting. I love the back yoke and will add that to my list of hacks. I have a smocked yoke RTW version that is similar to this time (it dips to a V in the center, though, which could easily be done as well). I am printing it out as I type. Someone on pattern review mentioned sizing up and using it as a night gown, too! I can see the sleeveless version for summer, but layering cardigans over for cooler weather. It will also be a great workout top! Thanks for more inspiration.

Hi Karina, I LOVE your videos!! You give such great tips and I love your fabric choices. What is the pattern for the top you are wearing in the video? The black and white stripes? Thank you!

Karina, love your videos, they are so helpful. The binding master class was really good. My neck bindings do not stand up any more. Thank you. I have a question about the yoke you cut at the back. How far down on the pattern did you cut it?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles8 ай бұрын
1” above the double notches for the sleeves.

Hi Karina, I love your videos and use them to help me clarify sewing instructions. Please can you help with my understanding for the cutting out of the front yoke. At 12:41 you say to fold the placket section out of the way when cutting the yoke. As the pintucks and fake placket are a separate piece of the pattern, I am wondering what is the purpose of the placket piece on the front yoke pattern? The sewing instructions don't mention folding the placket piece when cutting out the pintuck yoke?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles6 ай бұрын
@@patriciam6808 I think you are getting a bit confused. You fold the placket section away if you want the simple yoke without the placket. Also, the placket section is there in the case that you just want the placket but no pintucks.

@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Thank you for responding. In the end I trusted your video and went with it and it worked out just fine 🙂

Karina OR ANYONE…Dobyou know if you can use any pdf reading app on an iMac to print off these patterns? I can’t get the version of Adobe reader on mine because it’s too old 🤬🥹
@vernabeckstead5148 Жыл бұрын
Karina, I'm having trouble with the tucks. The first tuck line is only 1/4' from the placket seam. So it just protrudes from under the edge of the placket. The next ones are further apart. Am I reading it right?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles Жыл бұрын
Ignore that first line. I did mention this in my tutorial. I believe that first line was removed in an edit after the pattern was released. I show the tucks in detail in my video. Have another look :)
@kathrynking11456 ай бұрын
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles The released pattern has that T mark 1/4" from the dotted placket fold line, and the instructions read to match up T marks and sew at 1/4" from the fold. Should I just ignore the pattern instructions and do what you show here? The pin tucks are spaced too closely and there are not enough T marks to match up for 3 pin tucks.
@LiftingPinsandNeedles6 ай бұрын
@@kathrynking1145 if you follow what I did here, you’ll have the result expected. I think the first line was removed after the pattern was released.
