Whitney that jacket is SO IMPRESSIVE. I’ve been sewing clothes for 15 years and I’d hesitate to take on a pattern like that. Very well done!

Thank you so much! I really was forced into trying my hand at it because of the lack of size inclusivity among costumes, but it totally worked in my favour because I didn't have time to be afraid of taking on such a challenging project, I just went for it!

Beautiful knits, Whitney. I enjoyed hearing about your honeymoon. I know at least 4 couples who have visited Portugal recently!

Still obsessed with your cami! I need to make one next year. For bespoke seamstress makes, I completely agree about the costs being justified. But I want to call out calling small maker seamed garments "handmade" is misleading because all clothing is handmade. Technology just isn't at the point where sewing machines can be automated for seaming. Things like cutting, folding, embroidery, knitting and weaving can be automated, but seaming requires too much micro adjustment to keep even and straight. So every seam on everything you've ever worn was sewn by a person at a sewing machine. When I started sewing and learned that all fast fashion is made by people sitting at sewing machines doing the same thing I do, it really opened my eyes to just what it means that the seamstresses making fast fashion are only earning a few cents per item. I think most of us ~know~ fast fashion has issues (and I also know the reasons behind people who do buy fast fashion), but I don't think the average person realizes that all clothes are handmade because it literally cannot be automated yet. Your lento is looking so good! I'm loving the color and fit! What a wildly good deal you got on that yarn!

You're so right Megan! Using the word handmade was misleading and bespoke is a better word for those one of a kind made-to-measure pieces. I'm trying to improve my sewing skills so I can rely less and less on fast fashion, but sometimes that's all that's available to me in my budget. I'm SO happy with the 03 Rib Cami and the Lento! I feel like after having a troublesome first half of the year with projects not working out, I'm enjoying some well-earned winners now 😊
