I’m basically a crocheter,but I have done a few knit projects in the past. This cast-on, in my opinion, is far superior to the log- tail cast on where you have to figure out where to begin! Either you don’t have enough yarn to complete the cast on, or you have too much, causing waste. It’s one of the reasons I gave up knitting and concentrated on crochet. This cast on, however, is wonderful. Thank you!

99% of the time I use the long tail cast on, but sometimes a pattern calls for a different type so then I use the requested type. Most of the time it’s down to personal preference thougj
