This is the second time I'm using your instructions to substitute edgings for my shawls. Thank you so much for this video!!!! It is incredibly clear and helpful!😊

As the last few people said, this is exactly what I needed. I bought a mini skein yarn kit for a shawl that I fell in love with when I saw the picture in the colors of their kit. But it turned out to be in 2 pieces - one is the shawl pattern and the other was this exact same Diamond Edging. And there were absolutely no instructions for how to get the edging attached to the shawl. 🤨Your video is the only instruction I can find and you made it easy. Now I can stop stressing. The only trick is how to guesstimate where I have to stop the shawl in order to have enough yarn left for the lace.🙃 So thank you soooooo much.

Thank you so much. I just could not visualize what I was supposed to do. The pattern I’m working on was missing instructions! I’m not the greatest at math but I knew something was missing. This is so clear.

This was really helpful! I read about this technique but I needed to see it to fully understand it. It's so simple and easy and I can't wait to try it.

This was SO helpful! I'm working on a shawl and I want to include a custom edging, but you're right about the books that give edging ideas not hvaing instructions about how to attach the edge to your knitting. Extremely helpful. Thank you!

This video is very helpful. I am wanting, however, to add a lacy edge around a baby blanket, on all sides. How would I do this if I don't have a live edge?

Curious, why slip the stitch with yarn in front on even rows (ws) instead of p2tog with that stitch from the base, similar to how you k2tog on the odd rows (rs)? It seems like it would add a row’s width between connecting stitches, since every odd row gets connected to every original stitch from the main piece.

fantastic - so clear! makes perfect sense now. Also - your voice and your accent - - in Uk - I have been watching a tv series 'Downton Abbey' and your voice and accent is just like Cora Crawley - Lady Grantham. Where is your accent from? fabulous video. Many thanks :-)

this is a good explanation ! thx . i am trying to make the applied border for the Duchess of Devonshire shawl and i am really having trouble . i am not getting the amount of st. sje says at the end of the row . --i think the lace is too hard for me . it uses c/o 12 st. --i wonder if i find another edging with say 5 st. c/o if it would come out right ? - i mean how does the scallop or diamond suit the amount of the edge of the shawl ? i have 286 st. on the edge to work with ?

Does anyone know what the upside down v symbol on the chart means? Only appears in rows 9 and 11 and those are the rows she skipped the video at the end so I'm lost. Can't find those symbols on any online kitting charts - what do they mean??

What is the original post and where can I find it?
Jenn, can this be added to an already finished edge of knitted fabric, by picking up and knitting? I have just completed a sweater, but it needs a little extra fabric all the way around the edge, and I was considering adding some kind of decorative edging. Could I knit a lace pattern and, rather than knitting into a live stitch on the body, pick up a stitch to slip and knit into?
