However lovely the pattern and the yarn, if you don’t like the fit, it does not get worn. I can certainly relate to that😄. Thank you for reminding me about the garments I have hidden in the back of my closet😄.

Great video! Sometimes we knit garments just because everyone is knitting them. This year I would like to put more thought into knitting items that I am missing in my wardrobe, a button vest is one of those things that I would like to knit this year. Looking forward to seeing more episodes 😊

You highlighted the issues I have with cardigans, especially ones with buttons. They're simultaneously too big in areas while being small in others that they're never comfortable to wear.
@skeinsofdreamsknits5 сағат бұрын
Right?? I find the style that works best is the one with a v shape that sits high on top of the neck in the back - like the calix and the field day cardigan

This was a helpful video thanks! Yes I also have some jumpers which I don't wear for various reasons. I think I also need to make cardigans a size up to what I choose for jumpers as I get gaping around the front where the buttons join.

This was very helpful. Due to having an over abundance of heavy worsted &/or DK+mohair sweaters in my wardrobe, I am now in the process of making my first sweater under a DK weight. ( the Ilha sweater by Orlane Sucche). I work from my home office and, like you, I feel I need more lighter weight 'indoor' sweaters. I think I previously gravitated toward projects that I might be able to finish more quickly at a larger gauge, but now that I have more experience and more than enough of those, I am very OK with investing the time to make garments in a sport or fingering weight that I will probably wear much more often.

Thanks for your insight. It took a while for me to adapt my knits from MN to VA. I find Holst Coast (cotton/wool) to be a good solution. Also, the baby sweater is so sweet! I knit something similar for my tiny baby who turned 22 yo yesterday ❤

Definitely keep the Cumulus….your eyes were twinkeling when you had it on. You like it. And it looks amazingly good on you. I have the same issue with cardigans. If I make it bigger, it is just too big in the back. That does not work for me. And yes I have sweaters that I do not wear, to warm, the fit is not right and some need a little bit of change. I am going to fix it in this year…..or reclaim the yarn. So by the end of this year that pile is gone( I hope)🧐

In my case, if I don't wear it then it has to go. I don't have the space for things I don't wear. And the Aladdin picture just about took me out 😂.

I think we can all find faults in the garments we make but I do not see any fault in yours, ever! I’ve been wanting to make the Corran Cardigan and think yours is lovely. I’d be happy to take it off your hands should you wish. 😃

What a lot of work you have put into your sweaters! I hope you find homes for them if you're really not going to wear them. I think the one I'm sorriest you don't feel comfortable in is the blue with the red ruffle - you look absolutely dynamite in that one:) Thanks for sharing all your work. It looks like you've learned a lot about your preferences for sizing/yarn choices which you can bring into 2025!

Hi Megha, I really can't judge because you are wearing these sweaters that you make and YOU ALONE KNOW HOW THEY FIT WHEN YOU WEAR THEM. If you always have to be conscious about them when you wear them, that's not cool. It means something is uncomfortable about them. It's nice to engage your viewers about your knitting work and wear but sometimes there's that place where in the end YOU KNOW BEST. WHO FEELS IT KNOWS IT. So do you and I support you doing you. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND FAMILY. Hope your Mother is doing well. Take care now and HAPPY KNITTING!

I enjoyed this video so much!!! As a fairly new knitter, with a similar body type to yours, I also found it very informative. So, thank you for your efforts and your sweet sense of humor. (Penelope Tucker, Oregon)

If you are serious about giving away that gorgeous ranunculus I would really love to wear it. It would be perfect for me for just the reason that it is not for you, the sleeves! I get Dialysis treatment three times a week for Kidney failure and the fistula where I receive the cleaned blood back is in my left forearm. So, to have that area exposed would be perfect for me. And those are my colors, I love it. I would be honored to wear something that is made by you, one of my favorite knitters!

Thank you for your video. I think when we don't wear our knitted items, they need to be either gifted or frogged. Having them around just brings in negative energy in my opinion. I think the learning we get about ourselves and what works and doesn't is worth the time and money we put into these items. We always learn more from our 'failures'.
@skeinsofdreamsknits5 сағат бұрын
Absolutely!! And i am weirdly detached from my handknit items. I am always happy to give them to friends
@Sandy-lq9xe5 сағат бұрын
I agree with you that the ruffle sweater is not quite right...perhaps it's the high contrast between the body and the ruffles. How about dying the entire sweater jet black? Even if the dying process results in the ruffles being "less black" than the body, you will reduce the high contrast and (hopefully) end up with an elegant sweater that is appropriate for the office. Just an idea. 🙂
