Thank you. I used to knit as a child due to spending months in hospital . I knit 3 fisherman’s rib jumpers back then but I wanted to start a project on circular needles and this was really helpful for that as well as refreshing my memory some 34 years on!

This is a huge help! The knit below is easy but I struggled in the past with the purl below so this was a huge help. This was very easy and clear to see and understand. Thank you so much for doing this.

Your videos are so helpful! Just the right amount of detail, thanks so much! I’ve have a fisherman’s rib cardi in my queue for ages and have been reluctant to start. This series of videos makes the project seem fun, not daunting. 🙏

Hi there, I'm just dropping you a note to say a huge thank you!!! I came to your most recent video to comment, hoping you would surely see this comment. I've crocheted for many years but only recently learn to knit (about a year), and thanks to you and many of your videos I'm finally feeling progressing really well ;) Again, thanks so much, Sunshine

You’re right about the lifelines!! I tried it twice and what a mess. I had to unwind it all. I changed over to double stockinette stitch instead. It’s not nearly as pretty, but it’s easily fixed and still extra warm.

I knit socks and when I get to heel flap and sometimes drop a S1 not sure how to fix that. Will you do a video on it. I just dropped a S1 but I just brought it back up like a knit stitch. It looks ok so maybe I did it right but not sure. Thanks

What is the difference betwen this technique and the regular knit one purl one? I don't see a difference in the finial result.

So what is the difference between this and the brioche stitch? I’ve tried the brioche stitch and like you said, if you make a mistake, we’ll that’s the really hard part! I just ended up starting over because I made such a mess of it.

Can you show how to increase and decrease in this fisherman please
@verypinkknits3 жыл бұрын
It's not an easy answer. The pattern I have for a fisherman's rib hat was a lot of work to make the crown decreases look right...I recommend following a pattern unless you are ready to knit, rip out, reknit, rip out...lots of trial and error.

I live in the country and my local shop has stopped selling yarn 😢 I have always bought Red Heart, but am now considering, since I'm going to have to order it by mail now anyways, going to Herrschners or some other reputable company. In your opinion, what company sells yarn closest resembling Red Heart. Thank you.

I was familiar with the term Fisherman's rib, but never really looked into how the stitch was done. After watching this video I love the results and am wondering if it would be able to be substituted in a pattern that calls for a regular 1x1 rib? For example, would you be able to cast on the called for stitches and still work the pattern decreases and so on, but use the Fisherman's rib stitch? Or is there more to consider, like gauge?

I love all your videos. Thanks for all your work. I’ve never knit this pattern and hopefully this isn’t a really silly question but do you not double your stitch count on each round?
@verypinkknits3 жыл бұрын
No, the stitch count does not double unless you deliberately increase.
