I have watched SO MANY videos trying to figure out how to cast on and end up with both threads at the end of my stitches; this is the only video that helped me get it! Thank you!!

Thank you so much. I have watched a ton of cast on videos and this is the first one that went slow enough and didn't stick her fingers in the way or went too fast, or was too far away to see it. This video is perfect, even down to the English accent. The sound was perfect and easy to understand. I can't thank you enough.

This is literally the FIRST video that I've watched that makes sense to me. I don't know why my brain has such a hard time with processes, but you made it very easy for me to understand the process. I'll likely have to watch it several times before I get it right. Thank you for this! I want to learn how to knit before the snow flies, so I have something relaxing to do on a 'Snow day'.

This is such a wonderfully clear and simple demonstration. I was able to cast on by myself for the first time, just by watching this video. Amazing. You are a gifted teacher! Love the British accent too. British speakers are so much more articulate than Americans. Love how you say at the end: "...and then you carry on until you've cast on as many stitches as you require, which is normally rather more than that..." Perfect, concise, clever, and funny way to wrap up the explanation.

thank you for this alternative to the double needle cast on I have been doing for years! I never understood the 'finger work' on other videos - you made it very easy to work out!! And you have a beautiful speaking voice too - very soothing! I can imagine you would be a very patient teacher!!

Great cast-on. Very clear and concise. It was this video that got me on my way to relearning how to knit (I'd been taught how five or so years ago, but had forgotten how to do it, and had never learned how to cast on). I used this video and away I went! Thank you!

Thank you so very much...I crochet very easily and can knit , as apparently I did so , as a young child and crochet was apparently the hardest stitch. I do not recall which one came first, but casting on has been my biggest nightmare , but you make it so simple. I can crochet just about any stitch just by following the pattern and find that much easier than casting on. I know the stitches in crocheting and my mum told me that knitting will come easier for me , as all crocheters can knit but not all knitters can crochet. My mum is of the knitting club. So., she asks me what crocheting or knitting have I done...? I have subscribed to you should I get stuck ; as I will embarrass the crochet community , by being the first to not being able to knit. I know the stitches , but getting on and picking up dropped stitches is rather embarrassing to say the least.

@SharkSalvation Personally I use this cast on (with one needle) for test pieces and tension squares. When I'm knitting a proper piece of work I tend to use the 2 needle chain cast on as I prefer the edge it gives me. Not sure if I'm understanding properly but once you have cast on you need to use both needles to knit however you've cast on.
