Knitting machines - increasing & decreasing stitches

Isn't there a way around not being able to decrease or increase on the same row ? wont the pattern block at the end be slightly off/wonkey on the sides? love the videos btw

it's very strange to see knitting machines in an educational setting, especially so close to home.
