Your knitting is always so beautiful! Love the sweater you are wearing and I can see it’s like a warm hug!

That's exactly how it feels, a warm hug describes it perfectly! But somehow it manages to make me feel chic at the same time... 😄

Your sweater No. 28 is beautiful and looks very soft and cozy. I also made this sweater and wear it often. The construction is a little unusual but it is a modern cut! Very much enjoying your videos, thank you for sharing. 😊❤

Thank you so much for your lovely comment! 😊 I am wearing the Sweater No. 28 as I'm typing this, I think it is my most worn handmade garment at the moment. It's just so comfy and somehow effortless.

I don´t think I´ve ever seen that sweater no 28 without the bump under the collar but you´ve managed the achieve a garment which hasn´t have that so congratulations. It really looks great and suits you very well.
@AnnikaScheer3 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words! I know exactly what you mean, this bump was the reason I wasn't sure if I wanted to knit this pattern at first. I assume it is created due to the fact that there is no short row shaping in the pattern. I do have to admit, though, that my sweater does show this bump as well sometimes. But since I used a very drapey yarn, the bump is not as visible in my sweater.

Thank you Annika for the free guide. Love from France (not from Britanny but from the French Alps).

Your Sweater No. 28 turned out so well! My opinion on adding the mohair yarn to the Ixchel pullover is that there is so much going on in the colorwork already that the mohair would not enhance the overall look of the sweater. Your knits have such a beautiful minimalist vibe that I think you would not be happy with the addition of the mohair. Thank you for another wonderful podcast!

Your sweater No 28 is gorgeous! And I love your yellow and blue socks! I am working on a shawl (The Article) and on a narrow striped circular yoke jumper. Thank you for this episode!!

You're very welcome, thank you so much for your kind words! What's the pattern name of the sweater you are making? I love garments with stripes. 😀

@@AnnikaScheer I am just using the DRK Everyday sweater (although I'm knitting a larger size at a tighter gauge, using fingering weight yarn). I'm doing two rows of a dark plum and one row of a deep raspberry pink. I just finally got to separate the sleeves!

You Sweater No 28 is lovely and the fit is great on you. I agree with some other comments here, I would remove the mohair from your colorwork; if you are second guessing it at all you will probably end up not liking the finished product if you keep it in. Happy knitting and thanks for another enjoyable video. ☺️

Your sweater 28 is wonderful. I am looking forward to the progress of your Ixchel. I bought the pattern after I saw the original in Brooklyn General store. The store owner is the designer. It is an absolutely beautiful sweater. I am so intimidated by this pattern. I think I just need to jump in. 🌟 🌕 🌙

Thank you so much for your comment! I feel the same way - I am still intimidated that I am not able to do this stunning pattern justice! In general, I am not happy with the neatness of my colorwork. But the good thing about knitting is the fact that I can always rip back if it doesn't turn out the way I want it to.

Could you try adding an extra button with invisible snaps underneath? For your cardigan….
@AnnikaScheer3 күн бұрын
That's an interesting idea! But wouldn't I need to keep the cardigan closed at all times then? Maybe I can add an extra button without the snaps and keep the cardigan open all the time.
@katedavison65926 сағат бұрын
@ I was thinking if the snaps were invisible you could either wear the cardigan open or closed. Put the snap on the inside of the band under the button, you could always put them on and take them off again if it didn’t look how you wanted

I would vote no on the mohair for the Ixchel (which is on my list too). In the insert picture of the 2 skeins, there appears to be nice contrast, but in the video the Stormy color appears much darker and doesn’t seem to be very contrasting. I’m not sure if that’s just a lighting issue? But you could swatch out some of the larger moon phases to get a truer sense of the contrast if you are questioning it. You might also check out some videos on color dominance in colorwork knitting to make sure you have your lighter color in the correct hand for your knitting style to make it dominant.
@AnnikaScheer5 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for your detailed comment! I think it is a lighting issue (with the window being behind me in the video and there is also no window directly in front of me) because there is indeed a good contrast between the grey and the blue. I was holding the grey in my right hand so I think this should be the right way - but you are right, I have to check out a couple more colorwork knitting videos. I am not really happy with the overall neatness of my colorwork knitting projects.

I'm not used to knitting with mohair, but doesn't such fluffy yarn make colourwork a bit fuzzy round the edges? I think I would not use the mohair in a sweater as intricate as the Ixchel. As an alternative for weaving in/covering ends, I saw someone braiding their ends. This resulted in a neat braid on the inside of their garment, which looked really nice. I have never used that technique before, but maybe it's worth looking into for your cardigan?
@AnnikaScheer5 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for your detailed feedback! I think you are right, the added mohair will make the sweater too fuzzy. Do you happen to have a link to the braided ends technique? I have never heard about it before and it sounds very interesting!
@kleineanna135 күн бұрын
@AnnikaScheer The lady I saw trying the braiding technique was using a video by Andrea Gaughan. I think it is this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zpeme3mfd9uZrNUsi=SMMr3aFUUYUO7ef6

Maybe the mohair will mute the color work that is in very contrasting colors. I say no mohair…. Just my opinion
