100 percent do the shaping. I have definitely come to this over so long making sweaters. It just comes out baggy at the bottom without. Plus it uses way more yarn if you don't shape it. I love how the sweater looks. I was absolutely thinking I might make that and steek!!!! I live in NM so yeah that would be way to hot for me. Love your podcast!❤

😁I love bread as a favorite! I'm not really an ube girlie but I appreciated that you brought out the slice and I can def see how the swirl adds to the experience. And I am one of those people who don't like the raisins in cinnamon raisin bread so... 👀idk might need to try this bread!

Haha yes! Bread favorites for the win! I'd say this bread also is just a general "sweet" flavor (the only "ube" attribute is the color haha, if that helps describe how it tastes)

Your Michigan socks look great! As a fellow wide-foot girlie who wants to dive head first into sock making, I'm going to take your advice and run with it; I'm casting on for some practice baby socks soon. Also, thank you for the Ube bread rec! It's the little joys that make life fun :)

Oooh good luck! I hope you enjoy the sock making process as much as I do :) So many methods for sock knitting too, so I hope you find the construction that suits you best.

The tessikina looks so cool !! I don't have any insights on shaping for the body, but for the sleeves you could look at other sweaters you have knit with tapered sleeves? And get an idea of the decrease rate from those projects to see how much you want to taper these sleeves; especially if you have other sweaters knit at the same gauge.

Hi Mariel! Do you knit in the English or continental style? I am a “thrower” and I’ve just started getting hand paint while knitting…or really, finger pain in my right hand only. I’m trying to try out continental but the brain and hands can’t seem to make this work 🤣 Wondering what you do, since you said you’re having some wrist pain!

Hey Katie! Great question! I'm a thrower/flicker when I knit right now, which I think definitely contributes to my wrist pain sometimes. A quick "fix" (aside from the obvious...taking a break and resting) is wearing a good quality compression glove. I have a fingerless glove that always helps with pain (wearing it to sleep helps with lingering pain too...altho I try to take actual breaks once it starts to get to that level of chronic pain)~ I hope to learn continental style at some point + experiment with how it may help with knitting ergonomics tho :)
