Thank You!!! I Love this pattern and had planned to try, but with your help, I know I will finish! I knitted and finished the Ranunculus because of your wonderful videos that guided me through the steps and now I have a beautiful sweater! I will so enjoy this lesson also and can't say enough about how generous you are to take your time to help us! I will buy the pattern today!

Thank you for demonstratying "english style" that is what I learned from childhood and have never been able to master continental knitting and it's frustrating to watch videos in continental style and try to follow.

Yeah. I wish all of the Knitters would identify in the title of the video what type of knitting they're doing and save us time. I wanted to learn to knit so good to a video and learn that way and then go to another video and learn their way and every other thinks that the way they're doing it is the only way to do it so they don't feel the need to identify it ,I guess. If I need the first thing about naming names and how many different types of knitting there is out there - and by the way did you know there is something called combination knitting? Well I watched that video when I came across it and there is such a thing as Eastern knitting that's the other half of the combination knitting which includes either continental (which I have learned is actually German) and possibly English throwing or flicking or levering ( which I probably would not mind doing). Anyway so Eastern and Western as a description has to do with the leg orientation of the loops on the stick the leg that is presented towards the needle that is going to make a stitch will tell you whether it is Eastern or Western presentation and whether you need to work on the front side of the sticks or the back side of the sticks to make a stitch that is the simplest way I can describe that because the problem is, if you do Eastern in One Direction or you decide to do a stitch for a certain reason and then when you come back on the past the other way you have to know which presentation you did and why you did it and come at the Stitch either the same way or the opposite way I have just had a total brain freeze on that cuz as I was about to describe it I thought I had it right but then I can get it and now I'm all dyslexi-pated -- which is exactly why I gave up on trying to learn it but now I learned that there is Eastern knitting and I like it a lot better! The only way to know about Eastern knitting is to watch Russians. Pretty much anybody that was a part of the USSR probably is a Russian/ Eastern European/ Eastern Style knitter. Ask Google for, "English to Russian" and then copy and paste the word for "knit, or "how to do Russian knitting, or "knit stitch sample" on to the KZbin search line. There are seemingly few and probably very young girls, since the age of KZbin who have adopted Continental/German Style ( probably only the Germans know that it's German style cuz it's been used so widely across the world! Lol. I'm thinking maybe, "polite people" across the world began to call it Continental knitting because of that nasty World War business. Ya reckon? Couldn't associate anything with the Germans no, no! Not with McCarthy on the hunt in in America that's for sure. And then Hoover! Sheesh! But, it's really interesting how things come about isn't it?

I appreciate you very much. Show and Tell is so much better than .. Tell. You are an above average teacher/tutor. I do wish that Knitters providing tutorial videos for us would identify what type of knitting they're doing. But it seems like every Knitter thinks the way they do it is the only way there is and I am here to tell you I have watched hundreds probably thousands of videos trying to learn how to knit, and have found out that there are so many different ways but I find the way Russians and eastern Europeans do it to be the easiest, most straightforward way. In the purl is so easy. And then you basically mirror it on the back side of the needles to do the knit stitch! I almost get bored from the lack of complicated movements and rapid progress, if I am just doing a knit and purl fabric. I have tried and found English throwing style to be a halting stop-start motion that slow progress. My pragmatic mind argues and rebels against doing it, but until I can translate it into the Russian way, or learn Russian to understand the Russian and Eastern Europeans I'm subscribed to ,who do the fancy stuff like this in their way, then I will learn all I can from anybody who's teaching.

I am so glad I found this tutorial! I don’t know why I had such a brain block trying to figure this pattern out. I have not tried mosaic knitting before. I really like the contrast colored yarn that you’re using for your cardigan. I will be watching the other tutorials as well, thanks bunches!❤

I fell in love with the pressed flowers shawl pattern, but was working on other items. When I saw the cowl pattern, I just had to get involved. I had knitted 1 other mosaic shawl, but it was a while ago. Your video has motivated me to start on the cowl, as well as to purchase the cardigan and pullover patterns. Thank you so much! I am looking forward to seeing the future videos on pressed flowers. 💜🙏🏼😘😻🧶💫 I love your kitty!

I just purchased the vest pressed flowers pattern. Really hope I can do this. Ive dabbled in mosaic but not alot. Im indecisive about the yarns. I dont really want to hold 2 together but i want a light fabric. my fingers ache with very thin yarns. do you recommend a nonbank breaking yarn? haha

Hello Rebecca! I’m new subscriber. Thank you for your great tips and tricks! And I also love “Life lessons from crafting” especially part 11 is my fav. It was just what I needed hear. I really have a good time watching your videos. Your swatch for the pressed flower cardigan looks so pretty. Can I ask what yarns you’re using? Thank you!
@SunDragonTipsTricks

Hey there! The yarns I’m using are Jody Long Alba in the Winter colorway for the main background color, of course we just ran out of it in our online shop, I hope to order more soon. The contrast is Feederbrook Farm Entropy DK in Flash Point, this yarn comes in different saturating and combinations of the same base colors each time, so no 2 pieces will be the same, even if the same yarns are used! So happy my videos are helping and making connections, thanks for the feedback ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Lupe- row 24 of which pattern, the hat, cowl, shawl, or cardigan? I’ll advise if I can, a full video might take a bit ❤️

@@SunDragonTipsTricks Thanks for answering love. I am working on the shawl, and I'm having trouble understanding how to proceed after row 24, meaning how do I understand row 25 and on,? from what I can see there's also an enmarked rectangle for the repeat pattern. I actually did a sample from rows 1 to 24 so I;m ok with the technique, stitches and such. Thank you.
@SunDragonTipsTricks
@SunDragonTipsTricks Жыл бұрын
Hi Lupe, I can see how the written instructions can seem like a lot at this point. Essentially she is trying to map out for you that on every row there is a 2 stitch border, then the chart, then the center spine stitch, then the chard again, then a 2 stitch border on the other side. How you work the border stitches changes depending on what row you are on and what color you are working, but they follow a 4 row repeat: main color right side, main color wrong side, contrast color right side, contrast color wrong side. I’ll try to include this in a tips video for just the shawl if I am able.

I need your help! Lol I'm trying to make my own cat ear hat that I knit in the round but I don't decrease. By the top of the hat I just cast off and seam together. But I want to make the ears a different color than the rest of the hat. Is there a certain way to do that?
@SunDragonTipsTricks
@SunDragonTipsTricks Жыл бұрын
I think you’d have to pick two spots on either side to do intarsia, colorwork in one spot, start several rows down, and make an inverted triangle…… hard to describe in words 🤔🤔🤔 Another option is duplicate stitching, sewing over the stitches when you are done with the ear color 🤔
