This is great! I’m not a beginner, but I’ve never made socks. I’ve always shied away from magic loop. You’ve encouraged me to buy the pattern and make these. 🎉 Thank you!

It’s almost a year later, and I’ve made 3 pairs of socks with chunky yarn and stitched suede slipper bottoms on them. They’re fantastic! Thank you ☺️

Hello! I tried these socks with a bit of my own modifications to the main patterns. I bought your pattern and tried to follow both instructions and video and I could say that this was not a beginner project both instructions and video wise. Before I tried to knit your socks, I worked on a different socks tutorial and I noticed that many of your instructions were written in slightly over complicated manner, which was hard to understand for newbies like me. What I liked in your pattern is that you included different sizes and focused on bulky yarn. Thank you anyways for your time and effort !

I am sorry you did not find this helpful as a beginner! I have found that everyone learns differently. This is the way I learn best and it works for some but not everyone! I hope you are able to learn from other videos better and can enjoy sock knitting. :)

@@denimandrain Of course! Learning is very individual. I like your designs tho, I will try to look into other patterns you have maybe I will find something easier :)

What is the size of the needle and length of the cable you used?
@angelaweil10 ай бұрын
I can’t wait to get started on these socks! I read some of the preliminary information you have on the socks. I saw the sizes with their corresponding measurements. Are those body measurements or sock measurements? I just want to make sure that if I buy the pattern, I will have a clear understanding of how to pick the correct size for me.
@denimandrain10 ай бұрын
The pattern is based off the measurements of your foot! It has general shoe sizes but then the measurements in Inches for the foot length and circumstance of your leg and foot. Hope that helps! 😄

Hello! Beautiful tutorial, thank you! I just want to ask you how to count stitches for the right size of the socks? Thank you!
@dianaleigh1218 Жыл бұрын
Hello! I purchased the pattern and I’m following it along with your video. I just finished the leg portion and I thought I was doing it right but when I look at the pictures and video I see that my purl stitches are supposed to be knit. So if I turn the sock inside out, it is correct, however, the pattern says to knit across. So this will always make for purl on the outside. What am I doing wrong?

I really love the look of this sock. I purchased the pattern, but I am a very beginner, as in this is my first project. I find, though, that I am stuck on the leg section as I do not know what some of the abbreviations mean, in spite of using KZbin, and this guide skips over that section. Any suggestions? Thank you.
@mlocey911 ай бұрын
Change to C2 (second color). You will continue with C2 until the toe portion. R1. Needle 1, k2 (knit 2), psm (place marker), seed stitch (alt. K1, P1, different from ribbing, watch KZbin video for guidance) to 2 sts before the split of the ml (magic loop), psm (place marker), k2. Needle 2, k to bor (beginning of row). I didn’t place markers for the seed stitch portion because it’s easy to remember to just knit the first 2 and last 2 stitch on needle 2. It saves the hassle of messing with markers while making the sock! I hope that helps 🥺

Hello, my super bulky patterns are going to need to be made with the super bulky yarns. I do have a few worsted weight (4) patterns you could try. My Flonkerton Socks and Hay King Socks. The same construction applies to those, you will just have different stitch counts. I hope this helps. If you need more help you can always send me an email! The pattern Little Stitious is for 9 different sizes. This sock in the tutorial, I don't remember. Lol It is more about the steps than the stitch counts/size.

I'm sorry you did not find it helpful! It is meant as a basic guide, not a full step by step. I hope you can find a video that helps you more! Socks are fun to knit, so don't give up!

Agree. This was definitely NOT beginner friendly. Very disappointing
@kj3d81211 ай бұрын
@@denimandrain you say "it is meant as a basic guide, not a full step by step," but your title is " Knitting Socks as a Beginner - Helping you through the process of knitting socks" -- which leads BEGINNERS to think we're going to be led, step by step, through the process. As evidenced by the multiple comments here that say "not beginner friendly" and "you don't explain...." Maybe you should change the title to "Overview of Knitting Socks" and leave out the word "beginner" so it doesn't come up in the search (which is how I found this video: my search term was "knit socks for beginners").

And the video says let's knit some slipper socks together meaning step by step. But think she's doing the false advertisement so that you buy her pattern.

I’m a new knitter and this was so helpful to understand the basic construction of the socks and techniques and terms. I understood immediately this was not a free pattern tutorial. I’ve watched enough videos on socks to understand I’m not going to get a basic recipe without finding a paid or free pattern. It seems most knitting videos are like this. Big difference from my learning to crochet experience last year. Thank you for explaining everything so well. I really want to knit socks. I thought I had another year of learning to get to this skill level.

@@denimandrain thank you for your reply. I’m a fairly tight nervous beginner knitter! I’m not too concerned on how they turn out really. Just practice for me. I have kinda conquered scarves & hats and baby bits, so I thought I would try these now. They won’t go to waste I’m hoping I can do them of sorts for our homeless hence the hats & scarves! Just reminded myself there. Some of the ladies don’t like wearing hats so I need to knit up a couple of the headbands and put bows on them, I’m hoping it will still keep their ears warm!! Anyway I’m babbling on! Thanks again. Take Care
