Hello! I'm Erin of the kuriaknits channel. I am thrilled to be sharing about all things knitting, yarn, dyeing, and fibre arts. ❤️💕 Yes... I went to TEN yarn stores in Copenhagen. This is my yarn shopping for the year but I couldn't pass up the amazing variety and prices here.

|ABOUT|
I live and knit in Southern Ontario with my husband and my terrier. The name kuriaknits comes from my last name - Kurian. Kurian has Indian and Syrian origins and I feel lucky every day that my husband shared it with me.

Thank you for sharing your yarn shop tour and your insights. I feel like I have been on a mini trip! Looking forward to your future updates to see your projects in progress. I love your podcasts. Myself, I'm knitting some tee shirts this summer with a couple of linen and silk yarns new to me.

Hi from New Zealand! Great podcast! How exciting to be traveling again! I love Snefnug! It's perhaps my favourite yarn! I will say though, the cotton content is the chain that the yarn is blown into, rather than woven in as part of the composition of the yarn. I think this makes a difference because unlike a cotton/wool blend where it could be worn in more temperate climates, Snefnug is very warm! I would recommend a bit of investigation on how others report on its properties before knitting something you might want to wear in warmer days!

Ohh thanks for the advice! I might use it with some left over Drops Air then for some colour work :)

My hint for the knitting barber cords: I use a twist tie on each cord - saves untangling them every time you go to use them. What a great price - paid $18 in Canada 🇨🇦. Great podcast….makes me want to travel again!

Just saw this video, I hope that you had a lovely time in Copenhagen. Just wanted to say you are correct about Hobbii they don't have a store in Copenhagen the closest one to Cph is in Roskilde which is a lovely old city. Back in the day Roskilde was the first capital of Denmark it is well worth a visit if you ever find yourself back in Denmark it is filled with a lot of culture and then it is only a 30 min train ride from Copenhagen.

The fraya garn is by the brand you saw on the label stof & still. It's quite a big sewing/fabric brand with stores at least in a few different European countries. It is a danish company

The "tresko"-yarn we have in Sweden as well but we call it "raggsockegarn" and it is typically used to make thick socks or slippers! My best guess for the affordability is because of the roughness of the fiber and the nylon content that works really good for hard-wearing socks on e.g., wooden floors and in winter boots here in Scandinavia ^^ Edit: you can totally make garments with it though if you want!

Did you find a solution to your receipt printing problem? I work in Copenhagen and could perhaps be of assistance. When are you leaving the city?

@@kuriaknits Sorry about the delayed response...you went one way, I went the other, spending a glorious month in Midland, Ont 🙂 Now I'm playing catch-up on YT...LOL. If you find yourself in Copenhagen another time, it does not require an adress to have stuff printed at the library, you just pay with your Visa and all is good 🙂
