Great tutorial. I had been considering myself an intermediate level knitter. Until brioche. I sooooooo don’t understand the ends of the rows. Like knitter below... my brain exploded🤣🤣🤣. But Staci I have learned a boatload of skills from you, so thank you very much for all your fine video tutorials. You are my go-to girl for all things knitting!💝💝💝

Staci, thank you so much for this video. The pattern is beautiful, however your explaination is very refreshing. I’m a visual learner and when I’ve tried to knit brioche in the past, it was just too confusing; and that was with just one color. I’ve gotten quite far in this shawl and can’t seem to put it down. I can’t thank you enough for your tips and for making this video. I think for me the terminalogy of brioche is most confusing. Thank you again for simplifying it and breaking the steps down. Many happy wishes for you and your lovely pups this holiday. Big hug! Rissa :)

Staci I’ve not knit from a sock blank before. Do you suggest knitting directly from the sock blank, wind in a ball first or re skein wash to reset the twist and then ball to knit?
@verypinkknits5 жыл бұрын
I address this in the video - I wound the blanks into cakes (no washing), only because I was having a difficult time knitting from the sock blank because my dogs kept going after it. :)

Robbie Moore They are often sold much smaller....50 gram blanks... for socks. It makes matching the yarns from one sock to the next much easier, so the color changes happen at the same point on both socks.

Staci. I adore every video you’ve done. Love, love to watch you work. I do have a question though. I struggle with the cast on for brioche. I’ve read the tubular cast on works best but try as I might I have to rip out every time. It’s very difficult to keep the stitches where they don’t look twisted. I can’t tell easily the “knotted” edge like other cast ons and I get very frustrated. Is there a better way?
@verypinkknits6 жыл бұрын
This shawl uses a unique cast-on, and only a few stitches. The width of the shawl is created with increases, not a massive CO.
@followmedownarabbithole6 жыл бұрын
The cast on I was attempting was for another project for brioche. This just seemed like the best place to ask 😁

Sorry Staci I could not follow, I really tried, because I so wanted to do this pattern, gave up at 6 trys. Even with lifelines in every row when it came to unravelling the setup row 2A it wouldn't unravel. Love all your videos but this has stumped me, so sad. I'll try 1 colour Brioche first I think. I am not going to be beaten.

Sorry to hear it...two color brioche isn't easy. Good for you for giving it at try, practice with one color brioche will advance your skills and make adding a second color easier. :)
