It's really nice that you discuss the spacing of the markers and how these matter in the pattern. It helps me understand the why and not just the what.

Fabulous pattern and tutorial, as always. By the way. I will like so much that you do more of your series of fancy sitches, even the more easy ones. Nobody takes the time to show the swaps in diferent yarns and suggest the best use for that particular stitch, except you. You are the best!

I love your tutorials so much, you are the one that taught me how to knit five years ago and I thank you for that. I love the way this blanket looks and my aunt is pregnant, but holy cow those yarn kits are way out of my price range lol. I'll have the wait another day to make this blanket.

I absolutely love your videos, your designs, your clarity.... But I have a favor to ask... When you are teaching a stitch, is it possible to have a link for how to do it Continental, please? I have a lot of trouble adjusting certain techniques to a Continental version. Thanks so much!!!
@verypinkknits6 жыл бұрын
It's really no different...the only difference is the hand holding the working yarn. The pattern is the same, otherwise. If you can work the knit stitch in Continental, following the pattern as written will get you this blanket. :)
@nessa78086 жыл бұрын
VeryPink Knits my confusion is in the SSK, but I'll try it. It's not my only instance that I don't quite understand the technique. I am going to try it, though. Thanks for replying. I'm a big fan.... A Connecticut girl living in Chile! :)

Great demo! Is it possible to finish with a flat, I mean not zigzag edge?
@verypinkknits4 жыл бұрын
You would have to "fill in" the zig zags at one side for that, that is a major modification.

Does the number you cast on with matter with chevron? Like multiples of 16 or something?
@laboricuabonita13856 жыл бұрын
Coincidentally I'm working on a similar baby chevron blanket with minor differences and I have a question on a problem I'm encountering. Somehow the yarn that I'm using (Woolspun by Lion Brand Lion's Pride) split in such a way that it appears I did it accidentally while working on the blanket and didn't notice it until more than halfway through. I tried to drop a stitch down to it in order to fix it and looks like this isn't your normal run of the mill "drop a stitch down to the mistake, correct, and work the stitch back up" scenario. In my case, the dropped stitch started dropping diagonally and far away from the errored stitch. Is there an actual way to fix this or am I out of luck? I did try dropping anyway and ended up ruining the entire color block, had to remove it and reknit.
@doadirockwell17616 жыл бұрын
Does it matter if you wrap the yarn clockwise or counter-clockwise with your right hand as you cast on ?

This is so gorgeous!! How can I modify to make it bigger than a baby blanket? I’d like a throw blanket in this pattern and with that yarn
@barbaraward96016 жыл бұрын
The multiple is 16 stitches; you can increase as many 16 stitches as you need to make the width you want.

I have a ton of this yarn and would like to make a lap blanket. Do you have any advice for enlarging this pattern? Also, can you join yarn in the middle of a row or would it look messy? Thanks!
@verypinkknits6 жыл бұрын
You'd have to do the math for the size you like, but the repeat is 16 stitches, and each 16 stitches gives you 6" of width. Every 8 garter ridges gives you 6" of length.
@Calhoungal6 жыл бұрын
I think I'll buy double and make a big person throw. :-) Any tips on binding off with this pattern?
@verypinkknits6 жыл бұрын
I give instructions in the pattern - I recommend a normal BO with a needle one size larger than you used to knit the blanket.

Question...if I already have some wonderful bulky yarn in quite a few colors, many yards would I need for color A,B and C?
@chrisdarry-roseelrod44816 жыл бұрын
Anika Bennett it tells you on the Zen garden website how many skeins and the yardage. You can follow the links to get to it by starting with Stacie's website. It's s few clicks away.
@anikabennett8106 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I found it!

Could one alternate between garter and stockinette sections with this pattern? My idea would be using one color and changing from garter to stockinette and vice versa where the pattern indicates a color change.
@verypinkknits6 жыл бұрын
As long as you keep the top and bottom edges garter stitch, and you don't make the stockinette sections too long, you shouldn't have an issue with the blanket curling up.
@aussietash8316 жыл бұрын
penny zerr how did the stockinette end up looking ?
@d.rim.42756 жыл бұрын
It baffles me every time how you can knit with the main thread on the right side ... and so relatively fast!! I tried it several times but it was a desaster 😂 stitches too loose, constantly dropped a stitch, and my finger started cramping up. Gonna stay with the way I learned it (thread in the left hand). It doesn't make a difference when it comes to the pattern itself, right?
@verypinkknits6 жыл бұрын
As long as you're knitting on to an empty needle in your right hand (you're not a mirror knitter), it doesn't matter for stitches or patterns which hand you hold the working yarn. These two videos explain more: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpfNlnSiaquKrpo kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmarcqR9bbWlmMU
@d.rim.42756 жыл бұрын
VeryPink Knits thank you for the links! No, I just use the technique mostly used in Germany, we usually have the thread in the left hand.
