Thank you Barbara. Based on your review I ordered this yarn for a new sweater. So light and soft yet the drape in a garment is beautiful. So much so that I've ordered a second sweater quantity.

They require prepwork, so they're a little slower to make, but they'll come in time.

Thanks for the review, Barbara. I am always looking for something new to try, but unsure how the yarn will behave once I take it home! I really appreciate you taking out the guess work!

Beautiful yarn, beautiful swatch, I’ve a lot of chain yarns; but none with that blend. A very rich shade of blue too I like it! Really informative video! Thank You for the share I love your videos.

Thank you Barbara, love the colour. Just wondering when you mention the needle size, is it in millimetres?
@WatchBarbaraKnit5 жыл бұрын
I am in the US so it is always going to be US needle sizing. Up until now I think most of my viewership has been US based but another viewer mentioned the lack of mm needle reference and I want y'all to know that I hear you. For future videos, while I'm not likely to be able to rattle off the metric sizing when I am recording the video, I will do my best to add metric sizing as a caption on the screen during editing.

Any good patterns for DK weight cardigans?
@WatchBarbaraKnit5 жыл бұрын
There is a cardigan pattern at the link for the yarn!

just a suggestion ...when giving needle sizes remember those of us who are metric knitters
@thomclemmer24435 жыл бұрын
exactly that is why I made the suggestion that mentioning both might be a nice inclusive idea ...@@procrastiknitter3733

When I do these videos is it very stream of consciousness and I don't have the conversion memorized I'm afraid. In the future I will do my best to put a caption/subtitle on the screen with metric sizes when I catch it.

What size is it. Is it a dk or sport or worsted?
@neamhai5 жыл бұрын
Uh, she says in the video that it's listed as a DK.
@WatchBarbaraKnit5 жыл бұрын
Celeste is correct! It's a DK. :)

They blend the cotton and wool together and spin into a very fine single ply that they Knit into a small I cord. You get a bigger size yarn without them using as much fiber. So it feels much lighter than another yarn of the same dimension. Of course this saves the company money since they are not using as much fiber for the same amount of yardage, but still charge a good amount since it is a "special" technique. It can be good for the knitter as well as it will drape a little better and if you want a nice dense sweater you can make one and not have it feel so heavy or have it weighed down and "growing" as you wear it.

I call it knitting Nancy construction.
@WatchBarbaraKnit5 жыл бұрын
A knitting Nancy makes something that is essentially I-Cord, so that makes total sense!
