When I began to knit I always hunted for yarn at ALDI and LIDL. They usually offer it in the beginning of fall. I have never had bad experiences with their yarns (except one cotton sock yarn). They often sell amazing sturdy sock yarn in a pack of four 50g balls.

I really like the Rugged Ripples Afghan by Stephanie Gage on Ravelry. I’ve been working on a worsted scrappy version for years, and it’s always a joy to come back and pick up when I have more scraps to add to it

Love the video. I started to crochet when I was 10, my Aunt taught me. My Mom who is from England tried to teach me to knit and I just couldn’t figure it out. But when I turned 50, I took a lesson and I knit all the time now especially socks. My favorite crochet blanket patterns are unfortunately in booklets, used to get them at our craft store. I love a good shell stitch blanket, zigzag and I do like crocheting blankets instead of knitting. I am working on the Dune Blanket by Attic 24, she has some great patterns online. Plus she has great borders to choose from. Enjoy

My youngest would rather scrub toilets than do dishes…so I let them decide how to split chores. When I went back to school they were just about teens. The boys decided they would do their own laundry. Kids thrive in responsibility, it gives them a sense of accomplishment. Developing life skills is a good thing. 🌈🌈🦋🦋

We have Lidl in the US, my local one is across the street from Aldi lol! I'll have to go check for yarn!

I had a go at Bavarian crochet. There are patterns on ravelry. I made 12" blocks and seamed them together 😊
