I have finished the newborn size for our first baby that we're expecting in December, and I am so happy with how it turned out! I have tried many different methods for knitting beanies, and found this one to be so simple! I am curious- would this technique work for an adult hat? I am guessing you would cast on more stitches, but I am nervous about the decrease rows. Would I use the same technique?

hello all! I am very new to knitting and I am having trouble grasping the "shorthand" (for lack of a better word) way of casting on, knitting, and purling. I've done all them but I bring the working end around the sticks vs holding it with the index finger to work it in. I am also having trouble grasping how to cast on this way with the 2 loops. Her way seems more efficient, but I can't make sense of it. Any video suggestions that are more in depth with this technique?
