You can maintain a "hits in a row" chain by flicking the daggers because you generate a "hit" on the chain link. But you can't trigger the Momentum card draw effect on an otherwise blocked chain link because the attack action card itself isn't what is hitting. So if they block your second attack, you can flick to keep the "hits in a row" going. If they block your third attack, you can hurl the dagger to keep the hits in a row going, and when you finally get an attack action card to connect with your fourth chain link, you will draw a card.
