Loved the impromptu blends with other KC products! I love Beam, but I am passing on this because I already have so many great bottles from this distillery. And like you, I could make my own Bourye blend on any night if I'm in the mood for it. Cheers.

Haha thanks Ralph and yeah for sure this one is kinda do you want the pre made or mix your own and if like a lot of people you got a bunch of KC bottles you can make them really interesting

Interesting blending today. I’ll be watching for this new offering. Great review

Great video try a blend of 30% sib 120 proof and 70% knob 10 rye so dang good. That is a winner. Love that your doing blends I do them often.

I just tried this today and do like it - though "the jury is still out" on whether I have to have this all the time. And I typically have both the 7-year Rye and 9-year bourbon in my cabinet. I paid about $40 for this and am not disappointed. I noticed this drinks more like 100-proof which I find quite nice for this blend.
@bourbonbill3 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s a great pour I think combined for the price it’s better than the 100 proof offerings but it’s not a must must have but still a fair price

Think I’ll get a store pick rye and a store pick bourbon to make my own😅
@bourbonbill3 ай бұрын
Haha you could but you need to get some killer picks of both to make it better it seems
@motohead0773 ай бұрын
Yup, was gonna say something like that. Just bought a KC Rye 115P 8yr Pick for $45. For some reason that store sells it at $60 in store, though $50 online or if you ask for online price & there's also usually a discount code for 5-10% off. The BouRye SRP is $45, though hopefully it will be $30-35 in real world, otherwise the 7yr Rye 1.75L is $55. Seems the only thing the bourye has going for it, is it's 113P.

Heck of a price for the store pick rye! But yeah over the 100 proof offerings the 13 extra proof points is nice on this one.

@@bourbonbill yup, got that KC pick plus WT RB & Green River Full Proof for same price. Had them only once so far, but of those 3, like that KC Rye the best, by far. The WT RB was a big disappointment. Have heard on whiskeytube that the recent batches have gone down hill & seems to be true. It was bottled 2/28/24 & seems very close to 101, with more nuttiness. I'm a big WT 101 fan, so was disappointed that I paid $45+tax for 750mL of pretty much the same stuff, when I already have a bunch of 101 at $32.50 per 1.75L.. Gonna stay away from RB unless find a batch from a few yrs ago or the NCF Travellers exclusive 1L. Was hesitant to buy that bottle, but it was that, or wait to pay $90+ for RR SiB, if/when they ever get them here.

I did a "high/low" home blend with an 8yr, 7mo r/bourbon KC Rye pick and KC12. It's outstanding. Seems like most of the new rye picks coming out are over 8yrs old now, so doubt I'll buy another Bourye bottle. I'll just use the empty to hold my own KC blends haha.

Passed on the bourye and kc 10 year rye. Tighting my budget up this year for bottles. Last year I would have grabbed both just bc, but this year I'm like ehh save it for ogd 16, old overholt 12 year cs....Bardstown discovery 11 back up, etc.....
@bourbonbill3 ай бұрын
Well I would still snag a KC10 rye but it’s a shelfer as is this bourye so you can likely get another time. OGD 16 and Old Overholt 11 cask are going to be limited and must haves for me as well
@jesusjones30143 ай бұрын

Nice review BB. I actually like the KC Bourye, since I like the smoother, sweeter bourbons. And it is $40 near me. 🥃
@bourbonbill3 ай бұрын
Yeah I quite enjoy it. It’s a good bottle from them that is priced right which is almost unbelievable in this day and age
@100puremustard53 ай бұрын
My man BB coming up with a better blend than KC... no suprise there 😂 And not because KC sucks, I'm a big fan actually especially for the money. Solid review, but can I be honest with you....... I could have used more hand shaking! I know I sound like Christopher Walken (I could have used a little more cow-bell 😂). I wonder what kind of Vegas odds I can get for BB winning Matt Madness...??? Don't get me wrong, I'm going Jason C #1 because he's my Paisano! Keep up the good work, Cheers!

Haha I’ll do my best to shake the hands more. And man I just loved the higher age blend I had but I really want a high aged cask bottle from them there hasn’t been anything since 2020s KC12 cask strength

@@bourbonbill Seems all of the high age, CS stuff was put into Hardin's Creek and Lineage.

Yeah all the high aged stuff was but they still cut it a little that wasn’t cask from them
