Really enjoyed this video! So glad I found your channel. Quick tip: If you add significantly more surfactant to your hypo mix, you can achieve the thick white foam that you need. The advantages of thick foam: 1) it’s easier to see where you are spraying the hypo so you don’t miss spots or waste hypo going over the same spots twice, 2) it sticks to the ground and doesn’t slide down an incline, 3) for those occasions where you need to agitate the hypo with a brush the foam helps you see where you have brushed and where you haven’t, and 4) it MUCH more satisfying for your KZbin viewers to watch thick foam go down and get rinsed away, so it will grow your channel. Picked a good one to do and looks great finnished. What were the white spots you cleaned at the end?

All the white spots are bird poop 💩! When it’s left for so long it just sticks to the surface kind of like when you leave it on a car! Usually for jobs like this I would pre treat the surface with chemical which makes it easier to remove however, for the purpose of the video (it tends to be more appealing to watch the surface get cleaned before treating it), I didn’t pre treat this job so I had to go back after treating it to remove the left over spots.

That was just a regular adjustable Lance with a fan nozzle! The same sort of nozzle a regular pressure washer comes with.

Same here brother. But a chemical absorbent boom from softwash Australia and some gutter bags from Bunnings and fill them with water. Put them down at the gutter line then use a sludge pump / wet vac to pump water back into the grass 🫡

i have asked this question to many youtubers, but never got a response. so i'm asking you in the hope you will...when do you decide a pre treatement is required?

Hi Asha! There are a few situations when I think pre treatment is important! The first is if the surface is EXTREMELY dirty and/or has large spots of lichen on it. Or if the substrate is really porous! The second is if I want to speed up the job / cleaning process (pre treating usually always guarantees you can clean faster). For most jobs I usually always pre treat with a light ratio just to speed up the cleaning and I pretty much always post treat when possible. For the KZbin videos I tend not to pretreat the surface only because it looks better for the video if the surface isn’t treated before-hand (sometimes pre treating changes the mould colour as it begins killing it and therefore the timelapse transformations don’t look as appealing). For example, if I pre-treated this job I most likely would not have had to go back to the main driveway to clean the bird poop with the wand (after I had post treated the driveway) as it would have come off a lot easier with the surface cleaner on the first pass! The only reason I didn’t pre treat was because I thought it’d be more interesting to watch and if I did then the driveway wouldn’t have been as dark/black and would have been more yellowish/white (due to the mould being killed off) so change wouldn’t have been as noticeable (I.e you wouldn’t see it go from black to white, rather you’d see it go from yellow-white to white). I hope that answered some of your question 😁
