I guess the old mower decided it was time for some more maintenance.

Ethan, wow as they say when it rains it pours apparently it's been pouring on you. Yeah that sounds like that would be a pretty darn good idea to get a second cutting bar ready to go Thanks Michael

Old equipment can be a battle sometimes, no matter how well it's maintained. Pleased to see you run it and stick with it. BTW, I got to see 4014 roll past in Taylor Springs, IL this afternoon. That beast is amazing!

Had that happen to me last year. On the last pass. On my last cutting. Nut came loose on the bolt (despite being a locknut) holding the sickle bar on and the knife head got chewed up until it sheared a couple inches from the bushing assembly. Made a quick run to the dealer to get a new knife head assembly just to finish the last hundred feet or so that were left. Gotta love it.

If it wasn’t almost dark I would have fixed it an finished but I wasn’t going to come back the next day for one pass.

@@Oliver66FarmBoy Oh for sure, I get it. If it wasn't around 4pm in may case, it would've just been the end then and there,

We had a backhoe hose blow, the rear rim on our tractor split open and my buddies skid steer drive chain busted all in the same hour today then we got done with hay and noticed the wagon tire was flat. It was a fun day

I love seeing your 77 work we had one just like it on our ranch. It was the first tractor that I remember riding on with my dad in the late sixties. I have a picture of my uncle and my dad mowing hay. My uncle was running the 77 and my dad was following him on a diesel 550 with an Oliver 3 point hitch sickle mower I’m not sure of the model number on the mower. It had a frame that curved over the top made of round tubing.

Well, it's 2nd cut time around here. Nice crop too, about half as much as first cut but better quality. Now if only the weather would cooperate for just another couple days......

We are dry here for as far out as the forecast goes.

The inevitables; death, taxes and farm equipement beak downs. Just go with the flow and have some some alternate maintenance plans. Nice video of the end of the season.
