That’s a very beautiful bass guitar!! go Lions!! I’m from the Auburn Hills/Rochester Hills area, I just wanted to say that I have admired your playing abilities from a far, and I just wanted to say that it’s a true honor and a privilege to watch your videos and learn a lot! I truly appreciate that! I love it when you do reviews or just random videos! Hey Earl: I just ordered the Sire Marcus Miller P5 5 string in Tobacco Sunburst, which will arrive on Friday from Sweetwater. I have never owned or played Sire, but I heard a lot of great things.

You shouldn't be disappointed! They're well made instruments for reasonable prices. Let me know how it turns out! I'm interested! Enjoy!

@maxproud Hey Earl, I did receive the Sire P5 on Thursday, and I love the bass! You are absolutely right: for the money, it's like a premium bass at a budget price. The fit and finish is excellent. The tone is very good. It is easy to play on and the neck is smooth. I especially love the gloss they use on the headstock and fingerboard, it really shines. By the way: I posted a link in your comment to a video I made about a Sadowsky PJ 5 string reviewI did and tagged you in, but it was removed off your comments, so I am not sure if it's a setting that doesn't allow it. Anyhow thanks.

the magic of cnc machines!, pickup position looks odd? like a 60 jazz bass but further from the bridge? anyway, enjoy it!

Thanks for the knowledge! I didn't know what a CNC machine was! Had to look it up.

Hello Brother Earl, wow it's been some years since I've watched you...great to see you again. I was watching you during your SX bass days -- I think you had or have the best modded SX bass collection. Regarding this six string, would you recommend it for someone wanting to learn six string? My major concerns are the overall weight of the bass and the actual playability. A number of bassists indicated they had to do serious work on their knock-off 6 strings for playibility. 10.5 to 12lbs max weight is all I can wrestle with...not nearly as young as I once was. Be well. Peace.

Thank you "@powerforward1955" for reaching out! I appreciate you for getting back in touch. The SX basses I had were such a key in my channel getting popular! The KNOCK OFF 6 Bass may just be a challenge for some. The idea of it was certain and tempting to buy! But I acccepted the possibility there were gonna be flaws. Indeed it was a "knockoff" from Idonesia! No doubt. The bass is great to the eye! But you would probably be inspired to improve it. Sad to say it. But if you don't want to do any work on this bass? I'd pass on it. Hope I helped? 😏
@powerforward19553 ай бұрын
@@maxproud Many thanks for the helpful response. I wish I could do the work or had access to a trusted luthier. Accordingly, it’s smart for me to pass. Again, good to see you my Brother. …keep the low end thumping (bass) alive. Peace.

Earl Does the quality of the bridge really matter if it strung through the body ? 🤔 Your thoughts _______
@maxproud7 ай бұрын
Sadly, I must be honest. By my naked ear over the years. I haven't noticed a definitive in the quality of different bridges! String-thru design is supposed to give more sustain in the strings. But have you noticed the difference? I really haven't! Just being honest!

What's the string spacing on that?
@maxproud9 ай бұрын
At the player's mark (vertically between the neck-end and the neck pickup). From B-string to C-string is a distance of about 2-3/4 inches. Or 71 milimeters. At the top at the 'nut' is 1-13/16 inches. And 48 milimeters.
